I am from the US and went to Saudi Arabia for work in 2016 before it was open to tourists. I, like you, was shocked at what I found. Great people, very kind, safe country with a lot of beauty. I went back a few times and each time I was amazed.

Just moved to Jeddah from South Africa. Currently my 3rd day here. Everybody is so nice!

Millad10 I am Saudi. I agree how the media (quite often) delivers wrong information. And I hate how the media portrays my country. A country of “oppressed women” and we are apparently either all oil rich in mansions or all living in tents and go around on camels. Smh 🤦🏻‍♀️. They just go for the extremes, I live in Jeddah and this video shows how life really is here, it’s just normal tbh. That’s why I agree with the girls quote.

In the US the media is still moderately attacking islam, in France a national debate sparked for weeks about banning hijab (I am speaking about the normal hijab, not the one covering the face) just because a hijab wearing woman went to school to attend the parents meeting. Even the president of France spoke about it. More than 80 debate were done on French TV to debate the ban of the hijab (in which ironically no hijabi woman were invited to present their view) and they didn't speak about the Orange suites who are protesting and burning stuff because apparently banning hijab is the priority for the president and not the social demands.

I’m an expat working and living in Saudi for the past 13 yrs. alhamdulillah. I’ve lived in 3 different cities in the kingdom and my favorite is Madinah. Saudi is my second home and my home for the past 13 years. One day when I’ll have to leave the country, I will truly miss it for sure. Thank you for showing a part of KSA to the world. @@vdhklove7638 yeah in America too but if you say “im a doctor” the assumption is a medical doctor versus if you say “im a doctor of law” Im my field i am a “doctor” of nursing meaning i have a doctorate in nursing so if i taught in a university i would be Doctor Laila Abdul-Rahim (DNP~ doctor of nursing practice ) as opposed to Medical Doctor (MD) or doctor of osteopathic medicine (D.O.) as opposed to a PhD (like law or science or art or history) The specification of the degree is usually made after the name in the US Like in the hospital you would see “ Dr. Mike Smith (MD)”

I lived and worked in Jeddah in 2000 & 2001 and again during 2004. Great city, I really enjoyed it. Superb diving in the Red Sea, no other dive boats on most of the reefs. I met my wife there, she was nursing at King Faisal hospital so Jeddah has a special place in my life. Saudi is full of great people, and as a country is misunderstood by many Westerners. I encourage tourists to go now the opportunity is here, it’s a fascinating country full of contrasts

Peter, I'm a Muslim who was born in Bangladesh, lived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and am close to becoming a Naturalized US Citizen after living in Massachusetts for more than 10 years now. I came across your vlogs and I have to say, I really appreciate what you've done here with Saudi Arabia. You've made me miss it but also really appreciate it and its people again! In a world where hatred and bigotry is just rampant, this just really made me happy because I know Saudi people are wonderful from my time there. I'm also extremely happy to see Saudi people proud of themselves and their religion, and being great examples of good Muslims particularly the women. You are doing the world a massive good. I pray that Allah guides you the truth of Islam.

Lol. regarding the Arab paying thing, I'm Egyptian and when I went to Belgium, I went to a restaurant with a friend, and I offered to pay, and he literally said: "Oh thank you!" and that's it. I mean yes, I wanted to pay, but I was at least expecting some resistance or verbal fight or him to disagree or something, until I would be able to convince him that I would pay but no he just said thank you lmao. From that day on I realized I should not do that again in Europe, and just let everyone pay for what they ordered.

Hello Peter. My uncle worked in Jeddah in 1977, he went from Ireland as a plasterer and brought back the traditional Saudi headwear for me here in London. In 1980 when he relocated to Miami I wore it to keep the sun off as I was his "plaster's mate". No, not a great idea....... Incredible documentaries, without agenda or politics, a KZread sub that actually makes sense. Best wishes from UK

@@phoenixalpha5789 not as bad! I’ve lived in both cities 2 years in Jeddah and 3 years in Miami! Jeddah is far safer than Miami plus there are no homeless people in Saudi Arabia! It’s mostly due to charities and strong family and community support.

I use word of mouth to tell people how much I adored KSA I didn't expect that the going out into local areas that I would feel such a welcoming generous and helpful culture. It is actually amazing.

ريم الريم اختي الكريمة : الاية تقول (فكفرت بأنعم الله) الكفر بالله يختلف عن الكفر بالنعم. الكفر لغة هو النكران والجحود وكفران النعم هو نكرانها وجحودها ويعرف ان الناس كفروا بالنعم اذا كثر اهدار الطعام وكثرت المعاصي وقلت العبادات.

إقتباسك لجزء من الآءية عن أهل جدة يجرح …أعطيني أسم مدينتك التي تحب واين تسكن …وسوف تجد حديث أو آية في جزئية معينة تنطبق على أهل مدينتك مثل حديث النبي عن العنصرية النتنة عندما ترفضون تزويج الغير قبيلي … أو آية التبذير (إن المبذرين كآنوا إخوان الشيآطين) هل ترمون ارز واللحم بعد الاعراس …؟ وهذه الجزئيات من العيوب …موجودة في كل مجتمع …إلا اذا أنت شايف أنكم أفضل من خلق الله ثم استخدام الآءية واقتباسها يجب أن يكون على علم حتى لا يصبح كلام الله في غير محله…

We are still in the development stage, and Saudi Arabia will change completely for the better in the coming years😍🇸🇦

I stayed in Jeddah for 3 weeks in 1991 or 1992. The poor manager got frustrated because I kept clogging the toilet in the home and the plunger provided wasn't powerful enough. We felt so bad we then just started lining the inside of the toilet with a Hefty bag and defecated in that, tied it off & threw it away as to not keep clogging and oveflowing their toilet & the mess it created. The food was pretty good & the ranch style houses they had for us were nice and in a gated community. We flew missions every day out of Jeddah and I'll always remember the "falopian tubes" at the one circle on the way to the airfield. Great memories.

Oh jeddah ❤️ I miss this city I lived there from 2016-2018 and had the best time of my life so much good memories.

كيف مثقفة ولا تجيد التحدث باللغة الانجليزية مع السائح رغم أنها طبيبة ومحامية . وبعدين النقاب مجرد عادات وتقاليد وليس من الدين الإسلامي . بدليل جميع النساء في البلاد العربية في مصر وبلاد الشام والعراق وبلاد المغرب والسودان يغطون شعر رأسهم مع كشف الوجة واليدين كما أمر الإسلام المراءة المسلمة في وصفة للحجاب الشرعي . والنقاب أساسا خاص بنساء طائفة يهودية دينية في فلسطين كما ينص كتابهم في التوارة

I’m Australian and met an amazing couple on my travels in Vietnam, they are from Jeddah, we are planning on going to Cambodia together because we clicked so we well, honestly some of the greatest people I’ve ever met! I’d love to visit them but it seems way too out of my budget haha

The media doesn’t show how’s the real saudi look like..! We’re so happy to have people from the whole world because our country is wonderful and peaceful. Thanks Peter for this amazing video.

Faisal it’s not only the Media, lets be fair here. The rules in Saudi Arabia have changed recently and still are in the process of changing. Plus, the country was sort of closed for foreigners from the West, mainly. Now, as the rules change and the country lets more people from around the world to come and see for themselves, we get to know you more. When we watch videos like Peter’s, we see ourselves that Saudi people are not some angry, nasty Jihadists, or Islamists, but normal and friendly people. Love and peace to Saudi people from a Ukrainian family in US.

I worked for more than twenty years in Saudi Arabia as a general physician. The people were great and remain great. People do not change. The change is just superfluous. Scratch a little and humanity remains the same . That is the privilege of being human.

Truly the religion of ''hospitality and peace!'' Islam is the true and complete submission to one God. It's the most holistic and comprehensive way of life on earth. You and your soul have witnessed enough Peter! It's time for you to answer the ''call'' and embrace Islam! I did , and it was the best decision Allah allowed me to make. Don't hesitate, you will not regret it ! Your life will improve tenfold inshaa Allah.
