Jeannie Seely Tribute to Billy Walker

Музыка

In this video Jeannie performs "Funny How Time Slips Away" which she dedicated on her 2011 "Vintage Country" CD to Billy Walker, his wife Bettie, Charlie Lilly and Danny Patton. On May 20, 2006, Billy Walker performed at the Palm Lake Opry and RV Park in Foley, Alabama, in what turned out to be the last concert of his life. He and Bettie, Charlie and Danny were killed in a tragic accident on their way home to Nashville from that show. They are all greatly missed.

I love her ... I was at the Palace and talked to Billy Walker the night prior to leaving for the show south. I was with Billy and Vern Gosdin at the hospital when George wrecked on 96 Hwy .

There is something so special about old-time country music and singing. It reaches into the heart and stays there. It can be so honest and down to earth right where we live. I just lost a brother and he loved it as well. One of his favorites was "Who's gonna fill their shoes" sung by George Jones. As talented as the current crop of country singers are the shoes are still waiting to be filled.

What a beautiful song and soulfully done. This song has been sung by many but this is the best version I've ever heard. I never knew that Jeannie Seely was deeply wonderful but, this interpretation was absolutely incredible. Further, the band and the back-up singers were out of this world. I'm humming and singing this song day & night now....... about

I knew them all. They been missed. I met you jennie. Through billy. And danny. Danny was like my brother. Friend. Billy. Was very much like a father figure. I dearly missed. Enjoyed his stories. And songs. Kindness. Laughter. As well. Betty and charlies they will all be missed .i fell to my knees when i heard what happened.i had good times with them all . they were more of a family to me than my own. All days out on dannies boat laughing. I done all i could do for them . Never asked for a thing in return. I was honored to be a part of This family . Danny use to tell me he never leave billies side .. billy like a father to him.other artist wanted him to join them. Danny say he be by billy side to.the end. Danny always say how he never let billy down. Even when life throws curve balls ,i stood by them myself. Had done. My best. Never felt like it was enough..billy amazed me with his volunteer to nursing homes to put on free concerts for elderly. Billy loved people. My heart with you all forever. I speak of them how great they were to my sons. My youngest loves singing . Paul Dunkel. Instragram pauldunkelactor Thank you jeannie. It made my soul glow to. have met you all. And Little jimmy dickens. Thank you.

This song is just pretty, the voice is just magic and my mind just drifted into a Bar where there is no racial issues, just plain freedom to drink, chat, dance and listen to the depth of this artist making this song away from the soul and reggae versions. I felt young again just to shut my eyes and find that special place to enjoy this performance. I hope that you are doing well. Keep safe. Thank you.

at 5:39, you can see the hurt in Ernie's eyes, he was missing Bettye. His last email to me, he spoke of how much he missed his sweet wife Bettye and was looking forward to joining her in heaven. What a blessing it was to get to know them over the years, shop with them at Kroger in Tennessee & just be a real "friend" to them. We love and miss you Billy, Bettie, Ernie & Bettye. KC

Letter to Country Artist/Superstar, Jeannie Seely Apr 22, 2005 Dear Jeannie: If I were to write what I would like to say to you, it would take up lots of space on your website. Therefore, I will summarize it as follows: Along with my present food business in Canada, a few years ago in the 1970s, I owned one of the largest Country and Western clubs in Toronto, Ontario, due to the fact that I loved and still do love, Country and Western music. Each time during intermission, I requested that the Disc Jockey play your records. I not only love your music, but I also love your personality. I sold the restaurant/club some years ago, but I have continued to keep in touch with Country and Western music over the years. Lately, I purchased the Country and Western Family Reunion VCR tapes, and upon finally viewing all of them, I had to write to you to let you know that although you have aged gradually like all of us, you are still my favorite girl and your voice is better than ever before. After hearing you sing a couple of songs, your voice seemed to me like good, aged wine. Additionally, I have realized that you love animals. Consequently, I am sending to you by DHL Courier, a CD that I wrote and recorded about my pet poodle, Koukla, which is considered by many to be the best animal story ever written. She is similar to your pet. I only forward this CD to people who appreciate animals. In appreciation of the contribution that you have made to the world with your music, I extend my sincerest regards. Spyros Peter Goudas P.S. Should you ever be visiting Toronto, Ontario, Canada, please write to me informing me of the date and allow me to be your host for an evening of sincere hospitality at the finest restaurant in the country.
