That's the beauty of martial arts. You also learn discipline and keep humble.

I remember this very well. I was in high school and I stayed up to watch the Arsenio Hall to see JCVD. It was one of those movies that made me wanna get up and workout, go for a run, etc.

Van Damme was a hero to so many kids in the 80s/90s. I was such a huge fan and had all his films on VHS. Now I've upgraded to DVDs/Blu Rays. I'm still a fan today. I've probably watched Bloodsport 100 times.

Imagine if JCVD & Arsenio did a buddy cop comedy back then.

I've been watching him in movies since his first big role in "No Retreat, No Surrender," and must admit I've never seen him interviewed. He was really both humble and charming on Arsenio Hall. I have whole different view of him. Of course, like most, I had heard he was arrogant and full of himself, maybe later in his career and always dismissed him as a jerk.
