I am jealous of my neighbor because it seems she’s so happy, positive and carefree. Nothing ever bothers her. Whereas I am a Debbie downer, very pessimistic person. This is a silly reason to be jealous of a person, but I can’t help it. Please God help me get over this.

There's a particular Sh in Texas who's been taking shots at YQ on Twitter for a few weeks, I think the Najdee talk really rattled some cages. Yesterday, it was "Yasir here is wrong...", and in another tweet, "Just because someone criticizes you doesn't mean they are envious of you...Thinking otherwise is juvenile." Gee, I wonder who he's talking about? --Keep up the good work Sh Yasir, JAK...you've got an amazing collection of talks that have benefitted many, many people.

As salamu aleikum, this was an enriching lesson. But could you also make a lecture on bitterness caused by being harmed or the feeling of having been harmed by someone and that often feels similar to envy? JazakAllah wa tabarakAllah.

I admit this is one the most dangerous disease of the heart. It's true, sheikh, that this sin can easily creeps into our heart when we see the brothers/sisters' blessings before our eyes. When I realize I have that feeling, I immediately do a lot of istighfar and ask Allah to purify my heart. Having that kind of feeling is really disturbing honestly, and I don't like the fact that I think that way about my brother/sister. It's truly a jihad against ourselves.

Envy is making na_shakur to Allah. And Anger is not always justified. Sometimes you are angry because you refuse to listen to reason and to drown the other person's explanation

We can not get your every english pronunciation. Even we don't know every English words meaning. If you use English subtitle under your videos, then we will be able to find out the actual English words meaning by the dictionary. Our language is not English, so better understanding we use dictionary sometimes, if you use English subtitle under the video, then we can find easily word from dictionary. Salam Dr Qhadi, excellent lecture. Jazak Allah. I have a question and I hope Allah forgives me if this is wrong: I read somewhere that during the mihraj when our prophet Muhammad sws, went upto the heavens he came across Musa A.S., who felt a sense of envy over the size of our phophets ummah compared to his. Isn't it a human instinct to feel a certain way, as in, is envy all black and white or like a spectrum? ... Confused sheikh I hope you can shed some light on it for me I will keep you in my duas, jazak Allah. Ashraf

Sheikh said that if you want that his things to be destroyed is envy.

What about feeling envious with a person who has caused major harm to us, and was involved in damaging and destroying lives???

I would think that's anger not envy.

what if you envy someone cause of the pain they have caused you and you feel jealous? like someone getting a blessing and they are evil people and oppressive but still they get blessing?

I think whatever is the reason, we shouldn't feel anything about Allah's decrees, even if the person is evil and is being blessed by Allan we shouldn't feel anything in our heart and try our best to believe that's Allah's will and we accept it with a big heart and contentment

I am in that position as well. But try to read the Qur'an and you'll understand why. Allah gives them dunya, but their akhirah might be messed up. The problem is with us. Allah blesses us with imaan, choose us as His true believer, but it's very shameful that we are still jealous to those who don't even think about the Hereafter. The cure? Try to get closer to Allah and ask Him to grant us love for Him more than anything else in this world.

But why are we punished for an emotion that Allah created and is a normal human emotion?

From a rational perspective, jealousy must not have been considered a sin coz its natural 2 feel jealous.
