@Loren Magnuson well, it's good that I have my feet on the ground, and I am talking about something fictional, then. All I wrote was that JDCR stick with his favorite character, something I, personally, don't see happen very often in fighting games. I hope I make myself clear now.

@Loren Magnuson It's interesting not only how you interpreted his comment but even made your own comment on it aswell. To anyone who plays fighting games, it would be clear that he meant he's admiring how the player sticks with his character despite there being "better" choices or other characters & not some innate dedication for a fictional character.

Going into esports as Australian is financially impossible. There’s almost no orgs and no sponsorship opportunities. Most players have to pay out of pocket to attend tournaments to only have a chance to get any money back for it. It’s too big a gamble for the majority of us.

as an Australian, Epsorts is just a difficult scene to breakout as a pro for fighting games, to participate in major tournaments, its all most 3000 dollars in flights then accomodation and meals. basically to go play at major tourneys we have to basically take a whole vacation. even in terms of Australian only tournaments, it cost a bit to travel to the different states just to play for very little prize money. for a lot of good players it just isn't worth the time and money and sacrifice to become a pro.

Kichiro Kiozumi hes one of the best, but that’s what competitive fighting games are about, players making names for themselves, when these longtime veterans go to tournaments they don’t watch out for other veterans, they watch out for the unknown players that they never hear about because they’re the most dangerous, its the unknown players that train harder than the pros

Australia plays too many sports already. So gaming takes 2nd fiddle to everything else we do. The other thing is although we are 'close to asia' it a long flight to get there. we dont populate their servers so we sort of land in a vacuum where we actually dont experience too much high level korean, japanese, chinese gamers.
