@@pablomarin-marquez1028 It has to do with that genetics play a big part in this. To say that everybody can do this or any given complicated thing, is saying that everyone can be as good as Weckl, Buddy Rich, or fast as Kollias, or someone at their level, with only practice. If so, there would be many hundered thousands drummers as good as they are. But there aren't. Same would go for any athletic sport where everyone can run 100m dash under 9 seconds, or lift 500 lbs over their heads, with only training. I have extremely bad bang-for-each-practiced-hour-buck. I would know after over 30 years of drumming, still being a mediocre drummer. I've never been close to rudiment speed and orchestration like this.

@@PezrulezHaakon i don't buy into this whole genetics shit. Just because you dont practice efficiently doesnt mean you cant learn to. Of course im not going to change your opinion on genetics or whatever, but what i can do is say this. If you have the mindset of "i cant be this good" you will not be this good. Think of a child prodigy drummer. They have been told their whole life they're special, and that they can become somethimg great, all because they have talent. That kid is then going to have the image in their mind that they can infact become whatever they want and so they wont let things like bad practice stop them. They will find a way to persevere. I personally have had trouble being efficient in my practice now and then. So what did i do? I wrote down my short term goals to conplete in a week. Then i wrote the things i needed to practice to achieve them. And finally i wrote specifically how long and what im going to practice each day. The "mandatory" goal oriented practice is divided into an hour, so no time to be wasted. If im allowed to play for more, then i can explore new ideas freely without feeling guilty that I havent practiced the important stuff.

Sometimes "busy" drummers get annoying but JD has such nuance and subtlety that it never comes across as overly "look at me". As someone commented earlier his playing is a great complement to DOMi's keyboard work. This is one tight drum-and-keys duo! edit: I've just watched this for the sixth time, and who needs tom-toms anyway?

One thing nobody comments on is how quiet he plays. It's total control to play fast and quiet like that. Also It seems he rarely does the Jazz triplet on the ride. Most of his strikes are straight beats.

I have no idea how you can transcribe something like this! Do you just slow it down, or can you actually hear this at full speed and understand what's being played? Either way, you have a talent! Subscribe button has been duly smashed!

Thank you! It depends on the drummer and what they're playing, really. If it's pattern based (like the intro on this video) I can hear what's been played at full speed. If it's more complicated (like the solo) then I have to slow it down to make sure I'm accurate with the timing.
