I only have 14,000 bales on my 567 JD baler and also have some pick-up teeth break every year, and also get major plug-ups on the same spots (need to use vise-grip pliers to pull out the hay initially because the plug-ups are so dense). In my case i take the baler in to John Deere dealership for their "green-line checkup" and they have milked me about $27,000 so far over the years for maintenance!!

JD makes a square tined pickup tooth now that won't break as easily.

I've found that our 566 eats up teeth too. I have yet to put in a Vermeer tooth. we're in the same boat with our Deere balers, not worth anything for trade in, so as long as they don't need anything major I guess we will just keep them around.

do you happen to know if the spring tines have the loop for the bolt that holds them down perpendicular or 90 degrees from the length of the tines? thinking of using them for a custom application. thanks!

The many shaft is come to bake right there, The teeth braking you need to pick your header off the ground. I bale 5000 bales a year I put about 10 teeth in a year you need your teeth just to run your teeth in the grass. I gess I will make video on it .

Put up 2500 Bales with it last summer with the welded shaft, worked great. Although I did flip the shaft over when I went back together so that the power was being transferred to the unwelded side

@@OldGlory1776 Well I welded her together and stabbed it in the opposite way, we will see how it holds up. I was in the same situation, 800$ shaft that was 2 days out with dry hay laying on the ground.
