JCB's Pothole Pro, is taking on one of the biggest challenges on our Highways: cutting, cropping and cleaning potholes to support permanent and long lasting repairs.
End user and Steelwrist ambassador James Harper of Stoke City Council Highways division talks Peter Haddock through the machine he and his team have been using to fix thousands of potholes since December 2021.
James: "There are so many benefits of using the Pothole Pro. All of the main tasks are completed from the seat of the Hydradig cab, making it safer and removing the hand-arm vibrations of traditional methods.
"We have also seen the added safety benefits of the workflow as operatives work behind the parked-up machine to do the repairs.
"From a productivity perspective, we are getting so much more done now, transforming the roads for our local residence. And when they see it in action, they are amazed by how quickly it works.
"From a sustainability perspective, we are not only fixing potholes with a permanent repair, but we are also collecting the waste materials for recycling using one machine to perform all the tasks from cut to crop and clean."

And you can expect to see more Pothole Pros on the roads as JCB recently signed a big deal with Commercial asset supplier Dawsongroup for 50 units in October 2023.
At the time of the announcement, JCB Municipalities General Manager Ben Rawding said:
"With this deal, it is now easier than ever for UK authorities to get a JCB Pothole Pro onto their network, whether it's in a city or in a rural county, and the public will now really start to see their presence on the roads and streets around the UK."
