So this is the new JBL Partybox On The Go… Its JBL’s newest partybox that really tries to put an emphasis on portability. Which retails for $300. But ultimately this is a very niche speaker that I wouldn’t just recommend to just anybody. If you’re planing on constantly using the included microphone or planning on constantly plugging in your guitar then sure. But personally I really wish JBL did a better job of emphasizing the portability aspect of this speaker.

    Having just an hour and a half of playtime is just useless for a party speaker if you ask me. I am sure the average party where this speaker will usually be used for is about 2-3 times as long. Also, it would be awesome if the EQ knobs are used for music too. JBL, pay attention!

    even though this is the PARTYbox line, Jbl should start getting rid of those useless lights and concern more on using bigger drivers with more powerful amps.

  • @Jarrow13

    @Jarrow13

    2 жыл бұрын

    I totally agree. The lights are such a waste of space and power. The lights IMO makes it look "kitch". The PARTYbox On The Go concept has so much potential especially the fact that it charges from a normal everyday voltage. They should even ditch the JBL mics and rather make it something to be sold separately. They can rather put some focus on increasing the battery capacity so they can improve on giving it more power and run time when it's running unplugged. Like you mentioned, with the lights removed they can put in a bigger driver that would give it a tad better base.

    I'm with Sprint cell service. I bought one, paid half down, paying out the rest through my plan. It's really good..... for the most part. My wife really, really loves the microphone/ karaoke feature. I'm a bit disappointed that the bass and treble controls do nothing when playing only music. As you said, those controls only work when using the included microphone (probably to prevent blowing the woofer with too much bass if the bass boost 1 or 2 are used while turning up bass knob too high). Battery life kinda sucks though. For more power, better battery life, better sound quality, I really prefer the AIWA Exos 9. No mic input on that, but better all around performer for the $300 ya have to pay. Anyone agree/ disagree with anything I mentioned? Just my own opinion of course. Thanks.

    Just bought this for 185 USD. That's alot of value for the money. Since I got I today, I can't say much about the battery life. But based on today's tests, I have a feeling it won't be an issue for us. Haven't compared it to encore, but the sound is just fine and bass is plenty enough. A plus for me is the ability to plug in a guitar AND a mic. The encore with Bluetooth mic, doesn't have a mic input - on the go has both, plus the guitar in - and I like the mic better. For the price I paid, I'm super impressed. Didn't expect to use the mic alot, but everyone suddenly wanted to sing 😃
