Stop telling me that I put it “on the wrong side”. This is clearly to see the movement of the radiators, and not a sound test. If this was a sound test, I would be using a good microphone.

Many people tell me to use “Low Frequency Mode”. However, this mode doesn’t boost low frequencies. It turns off all DSP and so, the tunings of the speaker, making it sound tinny and horrible. It reduces bass, I have no idea why someone decided to call it “Low Frequency Mode”, because it does the exact opposite of that. It also makes the speaker distort, and the chance of blowing it up is big. So please stop commenting to use the “Low Frequency Mode”.

SKULL NATION Definitely not the Flip series at all. Either the Charge 3 or XB30 would do well for bass. The XB30 keeps slightly more bass at high volumes.

Do you plan getting the Harman Kardon Go + Play?

Yes, I really want that speaker. But at the moment, I don't have the money for it.. And probably not any time soon as well. But we'll see. My sister is gone with her B&O Beoplay A1 as well, and she's only coming back in a few months. So I also can't make any video about that.

Nizar Nadirsha The Go and the Charge 2+ both have the old tones. The Flip 3, Charge 3 and the Xtreme all have the newer startup tones. I prefer the old ones though.

Otto Meijerhof when you want to assemble it again, start by putting the grill in the front of the speaker, then start pushing the side of the grill where there is no buttons and keep the side where the buttons are for the end (sorry for bad english)

Better than u Won’t really work, this has been recorded quite some time ago, and it was recorded with an iPhone microphone.

Dennis Lee I can't recommend the Xtreme for listening in a room, it's too bass heavy. I'd go with the Charge 3 for using it in a small room.

T Teach I don't have the Soundlink Mini anymore, because the sound isn't good, it's very overhyped. The Xtreme and Charge 3 are just two totally different speakers, so that really depends on your needs, which I don't know. What do you want from the speaker?

Depld No, but soon with JBL Connect+, you can connect a Charge 3 and a Pulse 3, Flip 4 and Xtreme together, up to many hundreds.

Seth Missaar I prefer the Charge 3 overall by quite a bit. It's not as unbalanced, reaches deeper and is much louder. The Charge 2+ isn't bad tho'. It's okay for ~100$.

Otto's Audio...understood, when you put it that way...I thought you were testing overall bass output, not showing the excursion of the drivers/radiators. Nice sound quality though, thanks for doing a nice job with that!

Xtreme is boosted for outdoors so since u have them all u might aswell just use the others indoors! Damn just like mei have all the bad boys except go, I'd take clip over go!

what the name of the song

It's not only the sound where the choice depends on guys. Think of JBL Connect or JBL Connect+. Some speakers last long with their battery and some of them don't. All things considered I choose for the JBL Boombox. It is, of course, the most heavy speaker JBL ever made but it's definitely the best speaker. The speaker has a heavy bass and also the high- and midranges are still pretty good. The only disadvantage is that the speaker is very big and weighs almost 6 kilos. So it's very difficult to take it with you on the bike (but I found a way to this :) ). So when you are searching for a brand new speaker and you like to party, I would recommend the JBL Boombox. Nevertheless, if you prefer a smaller speaker, take the Charge 3! Balanced sound and it goes hard enough for indoor use! Don't take the charge 2+ or flip 4... They are my biggest mistake... :p

Zeno Koutsocheras Many points you state here are right indeed. A few depend on opinions, like what you said about the Boombox. In my opinion, it’s not really the best speaker JBL ever made, only for parties it is. Also, yes, the Charge 2+ is just bad these days. But the Flip 4, I still think, is one of the best. What didn’t you like about it? It has more bass than practically every speaker in its class, and reaches deeper than almost all speakers in its class, it is very durable, looks good, waterproof. I don’t see what’s bad about it, what do you? I often even prefer it over the Charge 3 indoors. The punch is quite similar, just not as boosted. And the treble is much better, but a bit too much, which you can tone down with an EQ.

What about the Plus 2?

Jan Kowalski Why not the Charge 3 or Flip 4..? Those are both miles better than their predecessors. From the Flip 3 and Charge 2+, it really depends on your needs. The Charge 2+ for bass, and the Flip 3 for loudness and accuracy.

Bruno Bello When i bought the charge 3.. i was quite disapointed with the sound. totally diff from 2+. But i like it. it sounds bigger, more powerful. but now im back to mostly using my 2+. i just love the clarity of the 2+. Charge 3 = more powerful, battery last forever, waterproof. Charge 2+ = better sound clarity. splashproof. i still prefer the charge 2+.

Fefgie 7 The Charge 2+ is very outdated now, to be honest. The sound is unbalanced, not loud, and the bass doesn’t reach deep. Sure, it works, but for the price you can get it now, there’s better stuff out there for sure.

Jaro Flip 3. Charge 2+ sounds quite unbalanced, and the Flip 3 is quite a bit louder. Although, if you like bass, the Charge 2+ is still the better choice.

Westerix Als je leuke lichtjes wil, the Pulse 2. Maar de Charge 3 kan harder, lager, heeft iets meer bass, maar houdt ook veel meer bass op hogere volumes. De Pulse 2 is de enige die ik niet heb, omdat ik eigenlijk geen behoefde heb in die lichtshow. Als je de lichtshow niet per sé hoeft, is de Charge 3 beter.

That reaches too low for these speakers to really handle. Only the Charge 3 manages to play a little bit of the bass.

I have Xtreme but the Charge 3 is more enjoyable to listen to. Xtreme EQ has too much emphasis on the 125hz range which is punchy bass.
