I’m confused. Is 2.6 better in sound and vocal quality, clarity, purity, at high frequency as well as high volume. Does it give a bigger/wider sound stage with enhanced instrumental discerning. Is the depth maintained or better and does the BASS suffer noticeably at highs. Is this a MODE I can turn ON/OFF or a set in stone upgrade. Please & thank u.

I got an xtreme 2 camo, friday, my firmware was 2,4 and i updated to 2,6 and it sounded so much cleaner and better.

@@blackjbl1125 what about the bass? The firmware update on the charge 4 took some bass out at a high level, same with the xtreme 2?

I updated mine from 2.6 to 2.7 and honestly it sounds WAY louder than 2.4 where it originally came in with when I got it. It has more bass where I have to turn it down, that’s how good it got.

@@Saldeniek.s yeah if you want to have it louder, 2.7 is the same as 2.6 because it’s only an update for zoom calls and other features, no sound difference. but 2.4 has more lows while the 2.6 has more highs and mids, but it definitely is a lot more bassy

⁠@@jbl_bass_Gaming it’s probably up to date. It’ll show in the app which version you’re on and tells you that it has a new firmware version to upgrade

Why 2.6.0 firmware version doesn't show up in the app?I can't upgrade it from 2.3.0 to 2.6.0.

You must patch (dowgrade)the jbl app. I did have the Problem with my jbl flip 3

If you don't like 2.6 will resetting with the buttons reset it back to the previous version?

uninstall the app and download it again if that doesn't work leave the app on and turn the speaker off and on if that doesn't work use another device

Hey dude did you know version 2.7.0 is out. It only fixed some small bugs with applications in other words compatibility issues fixed. The sound is still the exact same just saying though and it doesn't have lfm

I purchased a Xtreme 2 in November. Installed 2.6 day 1. My volume on high cutout often. It didn’t get loud until it was at 50% volume. I called JBL they walked me through a reset. It still was cutting out on high volume and sound was extremely low until halfway 50%. JBL advised me to return it to Best Buy. I ordered another last week. I didn’t install 2.6 firmware. It still cut out at full volume but cleared up quickly. Still not sure what advantages are with firmware 2.6?

with 2.6.0 the LFM no longer works

2.6.0 for me is worst than 2.4.0 Sounds like bass is not so loud anymore. Probably JBL managers decided to save some money on warranty repairs by removing LFM mode on 2.6.0 firmware and make something between lfm and normal mode.

2.6 definitely sounds better... if you like premium sound 2.6 is perfect, if all you want to do is hear bass and watch your speakers stretch and get damaged then 2.3 is for you.... I love 2.6 it sounds soooo much better

@@blackjbl1125 LFM is a preference. The chance of destroying a JBL with it is extremely low and the only way it can break is if you intentionally do your best to break it. The sound on LFM is alot louder and the bass turns into deep harmonics which makes it much more useful for outdoor usage
