Thanks for the comparison with the StromBox Micro 2 ! I was an ambassador back then when they started and looked for expansion in Europe. I was very happy to help them because the product were very good quality and some friends were astonished by the sound quality. Same goes for Anker Motion Boom for example, it's worth a JBL sound wise, not the same max volume but longer battery life. I'm very pleased to see Samsung/JBL FINALLY delivering a JBL Clip that is worth, hope the battery life is good! Perhaps the price will drop but the Micro 2 is in the same range with lesser audience.

I always wear my JBL clip 4 like a necklace whenever I leave the house😅😅😅😅

Stormbox all day! It's way louder than the JBL and sounds just as good. Stormbox strap system is pretty secure I run with them and it has never fell off. The JBL clip has fallen off many times while running despite the clip attachment.

@Juniscrazy I've had the 3, 4, but not the 5 I didn't even know it was out. Hands down the StormBox for me is better. It's louder, more rugged, better battery life and it has better connectivity IMO.

Yh but if you play the speaker at max volume the speakers blows happen to me two times already. It’s a great speaker but the driver is trash. Now I just use my charge 5 WiFi with a third party strap and Cary it on me like the xtreme

@thugis07 the stormbox? No way I bump them only on full volume at all times. I haven't had an issues I use two of them on party mode or stereo mode. My JBLs give me issues all the time. The JBL clip 3 was better than my 4. The JBL clip 4 has given me a lot of issues down to the build quality. They're both good speakers but from being strictly only JBL I wa surprised with the Tribit Stormbox.

Just bought the Flip 6. Should have got the Cip 5. Hook onto my overalls when I'm working.

The one thing that absolutely pisses me off about JBL is the constant changing of party cast between each generation. I've got an extreme 3 that I can't use with my charge 4 or my flip 4 and I really wanted the clip 5 to be compatible with it but im.sure it won't now.

I just got two clip 5 yesterday and I don't know if because it's the first time charging it and the volume of course, but the battery life was about 3 hours at 90% volume. It sounds incredible for tge size of the speaker and the stereo sound is terrific! I skated 14 miles with it and no issues at all with the clip, very secure. Nice one Floss

I paid for the Clip 5 like 55$ and I feel its worth the money. In my country Stormbox Micro 2 is like 80$...

The JBL clip everytime, until someone comes up with a similar style it might be a competition again. Clip it to your bag, pant loops, pocket, anything and it stays. The amount of bass the clip 4 had was unreal and I hope this jumps like it did from 3-4. It would spin the JBL clip 4 on glass table even with the grips. Which are garbage that does break off overtime. Huge downside to all JBL these lines of bad design that fall off. Planned obsolescence and is fucked, hope they get to fixing that. They really need to stop this nonsense with glue and silicone that will fall off eventually. The Xtreme 2 had a rock solid base. My 3 year old Xtreme 3 sometimes vibrate itselfs on hard surfaces like cement floors.

Floss have you tried the wonder boom 3? I got it for 60 bucks but I think is pretty much the same as the 2

The last tiny speaker I bought and returned was the sony xb13. It sounded too close to my phone speaker (xiaomi 12pro back then). Is this clip 5 much better than the xb13? I am used to the Jbl xtreme and charge series so i might be expecting too much..

In terms of sound, I’d say the clip 4 and 5 are way ahead of their predecessors. I’d say the same about the go 3, the pulse 2, the flip 3, and the charge 2. Those are the models where they took the jump in sound quality. However, it seems the older JBL clip is actually holding up well from a durability standpoint! Can’t say the same thing about the charge 3 with the batteries that keep expanding and breaking the case.

This size of speaker is very good for use in the bathroom or at the side of the bed when your ear gets tired from the headphones, but with this size you lose the depth of sound that larger speakers provide. As for this size, the sound is sharp and becomes more loud and loses the depth of sound.

For more affordable portable bluetooth speaker i go for the tribit, if have extra and more dynamic set up and apps, Go with the JBL

No speakers should be tested without the Official Flossy Carter Sound Test. The Flossy Carter Sound Test really showed the difference between the 2 speakers and the JBL is definitely better. Shame it doesn't have speaker phone, but not everyone uses that.
