Dude, ty for the review. I just watched a comparison review of the Clip 5 vs 4 just before this video by a KZreadr with 1.9M followers and your video was much more informative (and professional) before i was halfway through the review! Thanks for showing the now recessed power button of the Clip 5, as on the 4 it was too sensitive and powered on and off from the slightest touch while out hiking...so annoying! Just ordered from JBL and got £9 off. Bonus.

The power button on clip4 will eventually break down and crack apart esp with outdoor use in direct sunlight. Good to see they addressed this in clip 5

it actually has a 12 hour battery life, and the playtime boost gives you up to 15 hours. It says right on the website which is now live.

honestly on my computer the clip 5 doesnt sound much louder than the clip 4. it does sound a bit fuller.
I literally just bought the clip 4 and just unwrapped it I didn’t know there was a 5 I’m going to return it now 🤬🤬🤬

I couldn’t even return it if I wanted to I dropped it like 4x with no silicone case on it on my scooter on the concrete and now it has marks all on it lol my dumb ass just bought a case for it yesterday that straps onto my scooter 🛴 so it doesn’t fall off again smh lol

I own the JBL clip 4 & have noticed that it don’t have a mic on the actual speaker when I use it in the shower enclosure when connected to my iPod touch does this new one have a mic to talk to Siri?
Can you connect the clip 4 to the clip 5? Just like how you can connect the clip 2 to another clip 2.
For my Clip 4, the strips at the back are fine, but the JBL text in front is fully gone, apart from the remaining stealthy glue text.
I almost got the 4..lucky thing i double check to see if the 5 came out😂

I'm in Australia and got told by JBL the Clip 5 doesn't release until august 😭 I was initially led to believe it was going to release in June 😢

Does the speaker rattle and distort? Whenever there’s a normal amount of bass, my Clip 4 distorts like crazy.

It shouldn't distort unless you got an equalizer, volume booster on, or it's a fake one

@willwoodfork7916 any small speaker will distort when it can't handle heavy bass. I've had to open the equalizer and slide the bass into the negative for certain music

JBL definitely didn't nail it with the bottom. The Clip3 was built a good deal better. And the gap on this new one of the clip, is tinyif any difference at all. Definitely not fitting on anything with the bike and like you said too, it'll scratch the hell out of anything like that. They still have a good deal of improvement to go here. Bring back the bottom of the Clip3 that was so much better. Open the clip up and put a quality coating to it. And put a small flat at the bottom for it to be able to stand if need be. Also, the power button on the Clip4 is horrible, I can't say how many times it accidentally pressed because it sticks out. Again, better thinking in the Clip3 for that too.

Silicone strips were huge fail for last generation of JBL speakers. Super annoyed of trying glue them back on
Old clip 4 more beautiful than new , it’s asimétrical

JBL 4 looks more premium. I have both and returned the 5 because it’s bulkier and uglier.

@seratractivo7231 at first I didn't like that it's bigger but the second I heard the audio I had ml complaints. It's hardly bigger when it comes down to the improved sound quality, volume, and battery life.

😮 still no mic SMH!!!! So basically it’s new because they can connect to another device and is able to fit on bike handles.. It’s a pass for me! I need it to have a mic to answer calls while I’m riding. Sad

@@perezfamily2861 what's even stranger is that the JBL go to used to have them like and they removed it. Sound quality seems to be quite worse than speakers from 8 years ago it only sounds good by itself as well.

@@NewStuffTV2 yeah it seems like JBL is going backwards despite having some cool tech. I'm starting to lean more towards the sound core brand as all their products seem to consistently be quite good.
The fact that you can’t turn the speaker on/off from the app is a dealbreaker for me. Won’t be buying any of these until they add that feature. Should’ve been a no-brainer.

If you just turn off your Bluetooth the speaker will automatically turn off after a little while. It’s not like you’re more than a few steps away where it would be hard to turn it off haha.

@@simoncorriere8209 Nah , I want the ability to turn it on/off remotely from the app. I don't wanna walk across my room if I'm laying in bed and just wanna listen to music in the background. It's baffling that they wouldn't add this simple capability. LOL
