Crazy story yesterday. We went to Best Buy yesterday. Mind u never heard of the jbl bar. We were getting ceiling speakers with a amp. While we was there we heard this loud noise. Long story short.. we walk out the store withe jbl 500. Right now wife is playing it while setting up Xmas decorations. She’s happy I’m happy. Great sound bar 😊

Great sound test the bar performed phenomenal the TV's sound was horrific, not much difference in Dolby sound just sounds really clear and good. Great video.

The new jbl soundbar line ups are definitely a good updated from the previous gen.

Sorry for my bad englisg, I'm brazilian and recently i bought this BAR 500. Sometimes I turn on after a few days but the bar crashes and is slow to change functions and does not connect correctly to Bluetooth. So I need to unplug and plug again the BAR into the power. Have you ever seen this problem? Today I reset the BAR and I hope that it solves.

I found listening to music really good BUT tv audio via eArc sucks. My old Marshall Stanmore II is better when watching TV. Any recommended set up or EQ settings that will make it better?

_You have to understand the optimization of speaker position, if you put the subwoofer 3 to 4 inches up in the corner of your room, it will turn the room into an “acoustic boom” instead of a centralized “bang” that you get when the subwoofer is against a 180° wall or in the center of the room, then up against a 90° wall where the subwoofer should be: this knowledge comes specifically from JBL and DTS engineers_

A trick.....put your subwoofer to your hear position, start the music. Now you have walk around in the room, find the sweet spot for you. Now take the subwoofer to this position. Take you hear position, and enjoy. This trick is from Paul, owner PS Audio, he know what he doing. Have fun🍀🎶

from my experience, the audio normalization issue is still there, when i set my volume to meet the enjoyable dialogue, the cinematic action sound will sound too loud to me so i need to turn down the volume and meet the quiet dialogue, i hope jbl will update this soundbar to have night mode.

I have this sound bar. It's replacing my 2009 Samsung 7.1 surround sound. The bass is insane. You can adjust from 1-5. And the overall system is great. I highly recommend.

I just found your video as I ordered this soundbar today. I'm interested in the fact that you also have the Sony X90L, which I just purchased a month ago. I assume this soundbar works well with the Sony. I have a Samsung soundbar currently that I'm not thrilled with and I'm moving it to my basement. Anything I should know about JBL/Sony combo?

y67 I've been enjoying the JBL, along with my Sony TV. How do you know whether pure voice is working? I got a great price on this soundbar so I won't be returning it. The bass thumps!

I almost got the X90L to..but the peice went up..my Sony X900E bit the dust last month..it was a good TV..i got the Hisence U8k..it is nice..the one thing i can tell is it is MUCH BRIGHTER.. But for the BAR 500 pure voice you have to hold the Mute Button for more then 5 sec , then tap the bass button. Smart Mode you press the mute for more then 3 sec then press volume up.. I talked to JBL and they have other reports of it not working after a update..you can also type in jbl bar 500 pure voive not working there are 2 rettid articals. THIS IS WHAT JBL SAID. Hello JP, we appreciate you reaching us about your inquiry. The 500 got an update that does not enable PureVoice. We received feedback that this is something to work out and we will be fixing and releasing a new update that will allow the functionality of enabling/disabling Pure Voice in the next few months. The update will be coming within 1-2 months

The subwoofer speaker is located at the bottom. this non directed position is not very suitable for music. but it's great for watching movies

Does it have multipair? Can I pair it with my tv and with my iPhone ?

just question, where is the 5.1 channels ?? as mentioned JBL 500 bar has 3 tweeters and 4 drivers so I cant understand where is the 5 channels. can you clarify that point please.

This JBL Bar 500 is upgrade from JBL 5.1 surround, there is no 2 separated surround speaker (as 5.1 2017 or 9.1 /Bar 1000). Thus, Bar 500 is called "Surround sound emulation" not real

Bought this bar last week for my PC and was not impressed. There was little to no stereo effect since all the front drivers are in the middle of the bar, which is really stupid. Swapped it for a Denon S517 and it's so much better. The subwoofer for the Denon doesn't rumble as much though.

Thank you, most of the things look good except the remote control, which is sometime unresponsive!

Hey. I've tested 4 of those and owned 3. What I can tell you is, Get the Bose or the JBL. You can flip a coin. I currently own the Sony but it's too early to give a full opinion. I can say that the Bose is better for movies (voice clarity), the Sony is best for other media, especially music BUT the JBL finds a good balance between the two. If I could rank them *based on first impressions* ; Sony JBL Bose Best of luck ! I'll come back to this if I discover anything new that could change my mind.

@@bawiso unfortunately in my country we have the Sony but the old generation soundbar and they are very very expensive we have ht g 700 but it's 2020 and the A3000 &A5000 $ 💸 and I can order the bose 600/300 ok ... JBL best for me now cuz we have a franchise the JBL 2.1 surrounded MK2 the best option because the last generation of JBL reduce last year 2022 the budget and the best over all and rating 5 star ✨ and bar 500 it's good but measure it by the price not really sure the best option Are you agree with me
