Great review...thanks...i have a question pls. I heard someone say that if your tv has ASC but no ATMOS sound, the rear speakers will have no sound! Is that so? And of you do have sound, will it be in atmos effect? Thanks

Hi Michael, it would depend on your exact setup for sure. The JBL Bar 1000 has Virtual Dolby Atmos to reproduce the audio height dimensions from any movie or TV show.

You're welcome. The The JBL Bar 1000 supports DTS:X. It also supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital TrueHD, DTS, and DTS-HD surround formats.

I have a weird shaped room, like the top two areas of the Shazam! logo with the TV in the top right corner and a 3 seater flush against the middle left side and a recliner adjacent below. Where should the wireless speakers go and would they be effective in this type of rectangle style room?

According to the manual for the JBL Bar 1000, the total width is 47" with the surround speakers attached.

Can wireless speakers be used as independent speakers to take them out and connect and play content from your phone.

Thank you for the review video. So you mentioned the sound bar comes on automatically when when the TV is turned on, which I was hoping to find that answer too, Thank you for that. But, say if I wanted to just watch a tv program or the news on my TV, is the sound bar good for that too? Would I have to make any adjustments or could I leave it alone? And I’ve heard that after you make adjustments to the sound bar, that the next time you turn it on it defaults to factory settings? Is that correct? Or is this only when you have to go back into the settings that it defaults? Just not clear on that 100%. Thx

@@crutchfield I’m trying to use just the TV speakers on my Samsung S90C 77” TV. I also have the JBL Bar 1000 sound bar connected as well, but only want to use the sound bar when streaming movies. For all other TV times I’d like to just use the TV speakers. I went into the TV settings and turn only the TV speakers on, but the JBL sound bar is overriding this setting each time we turn on the TV. Is there anyway to set up the sound bar so that it will only turn on when we turn on our Roku box?

The JBL One app that can control this soundbar offers EQ settings that you can adjust which are a bit more than just bass and treble. There should be a way to connect all your gear so that the Bar 1000 is only used when playing audio from a Roku connected to one of the bar's HDMI inputs. We recommend contacting technical support for this help. We include their toll free phone number on the order invoice.

I have purchased this product, since 20 days no technician came to show it's operaion

You sure can connect this sound bar's HDMI output to the input on a projector! Then you can connect any other source components (i.e. Blu-Ray player, streamer, etc...) to the HDMI inputs on this sound bar

I have a question, if you leave the detachable speakers in the soundbar, do they still output sound when connected to the main unit while charging or do they only work when detached?

This JBL Bar 500 does not offer the option for surrounds. On the current models with that feature though, The JBL Bar's WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity will turn off and the product will automatically enter into power saving mode when the detachable surround speakers are out of battery. It is recommended you dock and charge the rear speakers whenever they are not in use or the battery is low.

Sorry about that. The speakers do play when connected to the main bar.

please, which one is better for music, this JBL or Samsung one of these devices (q930b, q990b, q950) if you tried it before?

Actually my main concern is 1. music listening specially treble sound 2. Clear movie dialogue

Quick question - is there any lag between audio and picture say when a scene is showing someone talking is it out of sync at times or any experiences like that? Secondly, do you need to turn the volume right up i.e. quite high for a decent sound, or is the amplifier strong at low levels. I am just getting an idea of user experience as I want to purchase this or the 800.

You should not have lag issues using a wired connection. From there, the 500 has a 290-watt built-in amplifier so it does offer good sound even at lower volume levels. How large is your room or listening area?

Via a newer TV with the HDMI eARC, both have support for uncompressed audio formats like Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Atmos or via HDMI ARC: Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and PCM. An ARC-enabled HDMI input on older TVs may only pass 2ch PCM. Both models have an optical (toslink) digital input that supports 2ch PCM and Dolby Digital (up to 5.1ch). The Optical digital input does not support Dolby TrueHD or Dolby Atmos. These models do not support DTS, DTS-HD, DTS:X, and other DTS audio formats.

Satelite battery life is poor, gives only 2 to 3 hours of back up, Can anyone confirm if they are also getting same battery life?

They have usb c ports so you can leave them setup for surround and always have them charged.
