Truly a versatile pianist !!!. His style was as funky and soulful like Bobby Timmons, Les Mccann, Gene Harris and Ramsey Lewis. A sound rooted in Bebop which expanded Hardbop. Ray showed great mastery of large ensemble, trio and solo settings.
