The Halo CE:A Mk V Chief is being released as a single so with luck some of the issues will be addressed. Jazzwares and WCTs seems to have a "1 step forward 2 steps back" kinda philosophy with their Spartan Collection line. For whatever reason their World of Halo 1/18th scale line keeps knocking it out the park

What is funny is that the 3.75 inch CE Chief, while not perfect, has prettier and better functioning knee joints than this monstrosity.

I have the regular infinite chief and his knee joints are crap. I might heat them up because one of them is STUCK! This line I like but dear God the joints suck. I agree with your statement that the small cheap ones are better.

I just really wish they would fix the knees.

This is my first MC figures ever. I personally like them. Biggest issue is the knee joint, and it’s very hard to overlook that. But I think the CE chief color is great and not too dark, and the overall shape is accurate. If anything I feel like they took the CEA design and improved it to make it realistic and more suitable for a figure

Wow I found someone who thinks the CEA armor looks good. That’s a rarity. Personally I don’t think there’s anything visually improved in CEA, it’s utterly terrible. Thank god they did right by H2A.

Main thing I enjoyed about the Jazwares figures is the height....that's about it. Each newer wave is slowly melting my brain how they keep designing their joints. I'll collect just the base mark mjolnir armors for a generic Chief/Spartan Hall of armor. This CE chief is getting a single release from what I'm hearing and that may be the last figure I'll get from this line except for perhaps an ODST figure.

I know it’s not perfect but I’m actually happy to have the CE Master Chief in my collection now

I could be wrong but I believe they include the two finger point because of other mediums of Spartan art (whether books or movies). I do know 100% that the Combat Evolved Mk V is shown giving the two fingers point on the cover of “ghosts of onyx”. I don’t mind the fingers as it adds to a “squad” display. Another great review! I'm happy with CEA Chief, I hope the re-released version will be corrected. I also hope they make H3 and 4 Chief better than these current ones.

On CE-ish I had the same issue with the stiff neck, if you push the face below the visor you may break the seize. That's what worked for me

All they need to do is retool the articulation a bit so they get better movement in the abs and also the knees. I like the line however and have enjoyed the noble 6 team

Maybe they should stop trying to reinvent the wheel and just copy some already tried and proven methods for joints. Like you said even that '03 chief was 100 times better🤦

Just got the set yesterday and I was so baffled by the knee joints on the CEA chief like HOW? Figures from almost 2 decades ago have better range. I'm done with jazwares halo figures.

First thing that came to my mind yesterday while opening this one was "Anthony ain't gonna like this knees", and neither do I. God fucking damn it, why?

Those fucking knees man i was gonna look past the fact if they were like the halo 2 knees but that range is literally mind blowing how do you fuck up knees that bad who ever is in charge of designing the knees needs to be fired that is completely unacceptable. I could literally go on forever on how disappointed I am i was looking forward for this 2 pack but idk if I'll get it. I sure hope they get their heads out of their asses and start putting better effort in their product

They should just do single jointed knees.

I can't believe I have put all this effort to get this set to the UK as it's only a GameStop exclusive and to find out in this video that the main figure I have ordered and tried to get through all this hassle is garbage makes me so sad. At least the infinite chief will make me somewhat happy.

@@AnthonysCustoms her armor is the same as the of the shadows of reach novel that leads into infinite. Fred is in the 3.75 line and resembles that cover, too. Assuming blue team will be in future dlc.

Quite sad that modern companies can’t make figures better than a company from almost 20 years ago. I was super excited about getting a new halo line to collect, and that excitement has gone away entirely. I’d rather collect the joyride figures honestly. Brings back good memories and they are better figures. Great review as always 👌🏼

I managed to collected every Joyride figure back in the day (including Cortana and the hog) and they bring back such nostalgia. Ioved those figures, with the only issues being the fins on the heretic elites breaking off. The size, paint and price was just perfect early '00 figures.

Spartan collection wave 5 will have CE Master Chief as an individual figure. So if you can hold out till then they "could" improve it maybe.

Good god, what were they thinking when designing these knee joints.

I prefer the Spartan Collection to the 3.75 figs. They're better for customizing imo. They sell out quicker in my area so it's harder to find stuff but it's been worth it for some figures. I just hope with the Arbiter coming to the line we see more 6 inch scale Covenant/Banished and UNSC forces.

Are you going to review the rest of the Series 4 figures? The Yoroi, Enigma, and Jun figures are all pretty good in my opinion!

I personally love it. I feel like he’s in scale with Legends no? He’s taller than all of them because that’s how I’d imagine in proper scale.

Just got the series 5 CE Master Chief and the knees are different than the one in the 2-pack.

If anyone is wondering, you can sort of "fix" the knees by cutting some plastic on the back of the legs. We shouldn't be doing this but if we payed for something let it be functional at least.

Savage review, but I liked it. Complacency doesn't help anyone. I personally love this line so far, despite issues. Coming off of McFarlane's atrocious H4 and H5 figures, and average Reach line, these figures are modern Joyride to me. That said, i never checked out the Mattel figures

I would argue that LEGO has designed a ball joint like the one on this figure line, but that was for Bionicle, which are incredibly skinny.

Got this set a little while back - anyone else feel like the Infinite Chief’s neck is awkwardly long?

The small scale line is much better all things considered, which is a shame because I prefer the 1/12 scale

I think it was about time we got the anniversary version of chief, as someone who has the joyride mark V figures I much prefer a new sculpt of the character

Yeah there's really no excuse for them no to execute these figures better. I know Wicked Cool Toys is not known for action figures but its parent company, Jazwares is. They should be providing better support. Maybe they should reach out to you for some design consultation.

The figures might not be amazing, but for the price and the amount of accessories, I think it's just fine. Also considering that you get two whole figures.

I don't understand how the first wave is still the best wave. They got rid of the butterfly joint and they keep messing up the knees.

Yeah, definitely terrible. About the CE anniversary model, i think its more of a 343 licencing issue, other companies that made 20th anniversary products also used the anniversary model, but other CE characters figures use the original models, so it makes me think 343 wont let them use the original MC model

If you put the series 1 infinite chief head on the body it actually looks accurate to the game.

this is just what happens when you give the production rights to a company that just wants to cut corners to make a quick buck, they lied to us from day one, when they first showed off both series of figures, they were both painted very well and even looked better than the Mcfarlen figures, but that was just for show and the figures have all just been mostly disappointing, I would rather pay more money for better quality figures that look better for display. It's disappointing as a long-time halo fan that there is really no company that sells affordable good quality figures for display anymore, you basically just have to spend a lot of money to buy older Mcfarlen figures.

I pre ordered the figures when Gamestop only had the pictures of the prototypes, but as soon as the site uploaded the official pictures, I cancelled it. Not looking forward to having Series 4 Infinite Chief, and felt Combat Evolved Chief to be a disappointment also.

CE Chief's hands look too small for his body in some angles. Still like this 7" line.

It's sad that the old joyride we're made better than these new figures, got this pack in this morning, and I am somewhat disappointed in the CEA chief, hope they improve

I almost wonder if they gave us the anniversary chief due to 343 wanting to forget everything Bungie did? It still irks me that they retconned Chiefs armor in the "flashback" scenes of Halo 4.

What the hell is going on with the knees on these?

I'm not a big Halo guy at all, but is this how John Halo's supposed to look in the actual game? The proportions look kind of silly and the armor designs/details look very cheap. The Infinite figure looks Infinitely better. I'm assuming the companies that make Halo figures are given by Bungie/343 the actual in-game model files so they can make figures as close to the digital source material as possible, so does he actually look that dopey in the game?

I think the 1/12 line is doing pretty well imo. I can't deny that the articulation and QA isn't consistent. But the custom-making community is having a blast with these spartans. I'm hoping they'll finish off noble team (jorge and carter), and hopefully they make them more accessible. The yoroi spartan is selling like crazy and the price is pretty insane. So I think they're doing pretty good.

This sucks so bad. I was really hyped about getting this but now i don't think I'm gonna even buy it anymore mate. What a shame how bad that ce chief came out. Great review though

I like Halo Infinite more than 4 or 5. It's at least playable, and reminds me of the Halo 3 days online. So overall I'm fairly happy with the game. The figures are cool, but just like the game, they're not the same level as cool compared to the old figures.

@@-slice-6103 story and assets are almost entirely 343 designed. Shoot chief is wearing is halo legends armor which was made under 343. Even alot of the "classic" aspects are just superficial at best and used to hide the 343 influence. All of which I'm fine with btw. Even the multiplayer is more 343 than bungie, tho I doubt most see it that way. Tbh, had halo 4 had this aesthetic it wouldn't have been hated nearly as much which goes to show how much the art change was the primary reason people wanted to hate that game cause it's not much different than infinite.

@@robertogurrola7465 The art change definitely influenced the negative feedback it received when it first came out. But Infinite is closer to 3 and Reach in design than it is to 4. The Halo Legends armor being made under 343 doesn’t push it closer to 4 though in design. It’s still just a modified version of the 3 armor no matter what anyone says. Same goes for anything that looks classic. They all look like a modified 3 or Reach design. Though one thing I can say about Halo 4-5 is fuck the Prometheans. Didact was terrible and the flood is a much better enemy in-game

Maybe Jazware/WCT figured the fanboys will buy these and praise them no matter how bad it is. Modern collectors aka children don't care for flaws especially when the parents are paying for it. There is no logic here, we have to ignore reality and just accept these lol It is a completely different story for those who spends hard earn cash for mediocre or below average products.

While I’m happy we’re getting Halo figures and still have fun w these, I 100% agree w the quality going downhill, and it’s disappointing.

Yeah I got this figure pack, and honestly I wish I hadn't. The CEA armor isn't great looking, and the assault rifle he comes with isn't even the right one. Don't even get me started on the articulation. I'm done with wct unless they make a complete 180 soon.

I’d avoided it except for Jerome.

I feel like Hasbro should be given a shot in making Halo figures. Their track record on articulation and detail is pretty solid for the most part. Jazwares was fun in the beginning since they were new, but the novelty can't hide the criticism they have now. Still no ab crunch, colors are all over the place, and they still keep making the same chief over and over again.

I just returned my set earlier today. I opened it up yesterday and was pretty disappointed. The articulation was garbage and my Infinite Chief’s right arm kept popping off. I quit after the first series but heard they have gotten better. Definitely not this set. I wonder how many series it takes to get these guys correct. Great reviews as usual. 👍

It is 20 years tho halo ce came out 2001 it's 2022 now so technically it should be 21 years unless it's counting the bootleg halo 1 which made halo ce into a multiplayer downgrade version which 343 industries used to make the anniversary version of halo ce

I got the wave 1 Infinite Chief and mine happened to have no QC problems and looks great next to my Jazwares CE Chief. I’m so glad I’ve skipped the rest of this line it just seems like absolute trash and Jazwares should be embarrassed as hell. Mega Construx paints their tiny little microfigure weapons better than these figures and their accessories, lol.

This toyline has the most embarrassingly designed knees I've sever seen. I thought for sure they'd improve after series 1, but somehow they get worse with each wave of figures

An early and strong candidate for the Worst Action Figures 2022

Jazware wins for the two worst knee joints I think I might have ever seen on figures at this scale... I would much rather have outdated 90º two point articulation than this. I am completely baffled at how anyone looked at these and okayed them.

Thank you Anthony for your honest reviews! I didn’t realize how horrible this CE Chief was. Damn… this line is frustrating. I wish Hasbro were making it or at least McFarlane, because Jazwares clearly don’t put any effort what so ever.

I overall enjoy Halo Infinite. I really like the campaign it just needs more features like going back into individual levels. Multiplayer is pretty great. Needs more content though. The best thing the game did is the gameplay like it's so great. Overall the game in my opinion is a 7.5. Needs work but has a solid base.

Jazwares has always been a garbage company. The fact that MS gave them the toy license is further proof that they don't care about Halo. I miss when McFarlane had the license. Yeah, the poseability wasn't great, but at least the sculpts and paint were good. He didn't make Master Chief's armor _lime green._

Disappointing as wish this was half decent I wish I could get the 1000 toys version at a fair price.

It amazes me how bad this line keeps getting for how strong it was in wave 1. And no Banished? Come on, man! I get it’s the “Spartan Collection” or whatever, but wtf? Glad I found wave 1 Chief and can skip the rest. I have yet to play Infinite’s multiplayer, but I enjoyed the single player campaign
