Jayson Tatum: Coach K’s “soft a$$ St. Louis kid” tantrum
Ойын-сауық
Boston Celtics star forward and former Duke Blue Devil Jayson Tatum shares a collection of compelling stories about his relationship with former Duke coach Mike “Coach K” Krzyzewski, including Coach K’s recruitment trip to Jayson’s home in St. Louis and a couple instances where Coach K swung verbal haymakers at Tatum, knowing exactly which buttons to push to motivate the Duke freshman to grow and excel.

Graham gets the best interviews because he actually lets his guest speak without interruption… others in the media should take note
“I can’t wait for you to get drafted” 😂😂😂😂 why is that so funny?

It's hilarious coming from your coach. I'm guessing you never had the makings of a varsity athlete. 😂
Graham, you are single-handily the best conversationist of all time. These don't feel like interviews, these are whole conversations. That's the key, and that's why you surpass.

Coach K is a sav!! And you wouldn’t even know. His cool, calm public demeanor.
People calling it emotional abuse, all I see is motivating your players to do better. If you can't handle it then he's right. Prove him wrong.
I bet his dad told him about doing that to get the most out of him haha

Personally, I don’t care where he would’ve gone as long as he became a Boston Celtics that was fine with me! And I think the Celtics for drafting him in particular Danny Ainge, Jayson Tatum is a true Celtic

Yeah, and he would’ve thrown your ass right off the team and stripped that scholarship.
If Jayson Tatum’s dad was saying he was playing soft and Coach K was saying he was playing soft, then I don’t wanna see how he was playing back then. To this day when I watch the Celtics play I get frustrated and How soft he plays when he drives to the basket, the slightest of contact to the basket the ball is stripped away from him. Hold on to the Ball bruh.

Seems like over the top behavior from coach K. That's like some Bobby Knight shit. You can motivate your players w/out abusing them. Not a fan and never was a fan.
I'm born and raised in StL...I grew up hating Duke I'm a NC fan. So I was mad Tatum went to Duke. Then I was super mad he got drafted by Boston Celtics I hate them to lol us StL sports fans hate everything Boston. Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins so glad our NHL team Stl Blues beat the Bruins for the Stanley Cup 5yrs ago. All that being said I would like to see the hometown kid win a chip and then leave Boston! 😂
Just throw some travs back at him.
This type of coaching sound toxic AF...I guess it worked out though 🤷🏽♂️

Imagine bosses doing this. Parents doing this. But since it’s sports and the coaches are paid 8 mill… So in life when you make mistakes or aren’t perfect, it’s about humiliation and being chewed out?
