@ALargeShoeOfHenny
3 ай бұрын
@@bricepaul80word is Jay Z black balled her when it came out he was sleeping with her at 15 - it’s hard to believe but she was only about 16 on this song (so says the internet.) She was also meant to have had a private tape of her, Jay Z and Jamie Foxx and when she told a friend about it her home was robbed within days and her career was gone with the tape. They tried to say it was beef with Lil Kim but that was apparently just a cover story. Allegedly. I think the beef with Lil Kim was very real, but it was manufactured by the men in their lives, especially BIG who pitted them against each other to make Lil Kim feel like crap. Later she went to prison right on top of the promo for her first independent album Black Rose (so no longer affiliated with Jay.) At some point after that (if I’ve got these events in the right order,) she went suddenly and profoundly deaf which was devastating for her - she was still recording but someone had to tap out the beats on her shoulder god bless her. There is an industry rumour that it was caused by an untreated STI from Jay-Z which he spread far and wide seemingly. She ended up with a lot of anger issues and diva moments but Nicki Minaj gave Foxy her flowers a few years ago and invited her up onstage with her. Her voice still wasn’t the same (she’s only been able to regain 20% of her hearing,) but if you find the performance you’ll probably cry seeing Foxy cry when people start calling her name out. For all people have said about her temper, she remains one of the best female rappers to ever live, and I still dream of her coming back once Jay-Z, the famed career killer, finally goes down as is predicted. What would be just as good is if we could have Amerie, Blu Cantrell, Mya, MIA, Tierra Mari, Amil, Rita Ora and god knows how many other young girls who’s careers him and/or Bey bodied to gain prominence (allegedly.)
1996 was definitely a year of classics including this one.

@JAY- Z this video gives a zeitgeist feeling and thats what VERZUZ is about. Nobody really wins, we just want good music without auto tune and that's what the 90's and early 2000' represents with Jigga, Bad boy family, Soso Def, Usher etc as the peak of good music. Seeing Roca Wear alone in this video with Ill Na Na was a good feeling, that's why we want a VERZUZ to relive that memory ✌

Said she wrote 90 bars and he had to chop it up and spoke about her not knowing how to count bars or that there was ever a bar rule. He also said that’s why her verse still longer than 16 bars because he didn’t want to cut pieces to the verse that were crucial… on drinks champ also Brooklyn dude Ericc said she wrote more than 16 for I shot ya because she didn’t know about counting bars and how he was present when she penned the verse. 2021 and ya still discredit this woman 😑
