For anyone who's confused, the "run towards embarrassment" thing was something Jay said on another modern family episode when Mitch ran into a guy he once kissed because he thought the guy was into him but the guy said he wasn't into him which was really embarrassing for him. Originally, Mitch ran away from the guy and then freaked out and went to Jay about it. Jay's advice was to go back and talk to the guy about it even if it was embarrassing and it helped.
