*I was pretty young when Jaws was released in 75 (only 5). Saw it at the drive-in with my parents while pretending to be asleep, haha.That year my parents took me to Pensacola Beach, Florida for the first time ever, and I wouldn't go past my ankles in the water lol. Also the gorgeous white sand was soo white I thought it was snow! I love the Jaws movies. Even played in the tub with my Jaws shark toy I had back then :-)*

My favourite film ever. I remember my dad taking me when it came out. The shark didn't seem as plastic back then. One of the greatest character movies ever. Every time it comes on tv, I have to watch it, even though I probably could recite the script! Where has the time gone?!!

Mine too. It's one of my favorites, as well. Does seem odd without Richard Dreyfuss, though. Wouldn't be the same without Sheriff Brody. Glad they didn't change him or his wife. Wonder why Dreyfuss wasn't in Jaws 2??

@@angelapyle7301 I had trouble getting to sleep for the entire summer after seeing the first Jaws, mainly because I was afraid I would have nightmares (I actually never did once I finally drifted off to sleep). My own fault, I was in the 2nd row, as I didn't anticipate the long line to get in. I missed the Chrissie Watkins attack, when I finally got in, they were looking for Ben Gardner's boat (nice severed head scare scene, Spielberg) 🙄 Damn you, Bruce! (the nickname for the mechanical shark)

I also thought that the term, "Blockbuster" was from the 1956 movie, "The 10 Commandments" when Heston came down from the mountain and in his anger, smashed the stone with the Commandments. (the Israelites took up false worship while he was a bit of a time up there)

I was 8 when I saw this film in theaters and I felt so heartbroken when Marge was killed after rescuing the kid. Had a crush on her, too. 😆

Should have made JAWS 1 in 3-D instead of the Lame #3..... 2 Scenes that made you Jump in your seat in 2D , would have really given you a Heart Attack in 3-D (Brody Chumming in the Boat's Stern and Bruce the GW coming out of the Water) (Dreyfuss checking out the Hull in Ben Gardner's Boat and Ben's Severed Head coming out of the Hole) Great Spielberg Film !

I wish JAWS was playing repeatedly on the cable channels this summer. Hope it returns soon.

I just saw Jaws 1975 today and didn't expect much but they did a really good job trying to portray an actual shark I was convinced. I expected them to have some cheesy shark cut out or have a small shark very close to the camera to make it look larger etc but no. Looking forward to seeing the second one tomorrow👌🏽

I can't get enough of your video! It brings to life the same captivating energy I admire in my favorite actors.

I remember watching Jaws 2 back in 78, when I was young. The scene when Marge (Martha Swatek) got eaten by Jaws, wrecked me for a couple years. I wouldn't go swimming in anything other than a swimming pool 'till I was 8. Right on!

Yeah she had on a harness rig and was being yanked violently back and forth. Similar to the device that Ellen Burstyn was in during filming of The Exorcist. She ended up fracturing her coccyx which still causes her pain.

theres a few mistakkes here ,,like my spelling some of ages are wrong but one aspect of movie is that amity island was shot in marthas vineyrd,,,and amity is a word used for friendship or friendly quite ironic bc a killer shark was eating everyone and thing,,i was nine when it came out

Saw this movie when it came out in 75, 1/3 to 1/2 of the movie theater bolted after 20-30 minutes into the movie it was too scary for them. The girl next to me pissed her pants but she stayed. And I moved to another row, closer to the screen

After seeing the movie in 1975, I made a promise to myself to never, ever go near the ocean again - or a river either. Bull head sharks have been found as much as 1,000 miles up the Mississippi River. Ain't taken' no chances.

There’s a couple of scenes in “Jaws” that always make me chuckle. Both happen in the scene where the meeting is held in the Town Hall. Chief Brody gets asked if he’s going to close the beaches, to which he replies yes, he is. This naturally causes considerable consternation for the townspeople, which prompts Mayor Vaughan to stress that the closure will only be for 24 hours. Amongst the crowd chatter you hear someone say a line that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, “ 24 hours? But that’s like three weeks!” Excuse me? 24 hours is nothing like three weeks! 24 hours is a day. Three weeks is 21 days. Who the hell was that dummy?! No wonder you never saw them. Secondly, salty old Quint announces his arrival by interrupting the meeting scraping his fingernails across a blackboard. He then puts the willies up everybody when he knowingly states that “This shark’ll swallow you hole”. What I want to know is why the shark will only swallow your hole? What’s wrong with the rest of you?

They meant 24 hours is like 3 weeks of income for the island. Closing the beach for 24 hours during the summer tourism season equates to three weeks of income the island receives in other times of the year

We had read the book. The summer it came out,we begged our Mum to take us into the city to see it. We spent the summers at the cottage. That was the last time i enjoyed deep dark water!!! I was 12. I’m 59 and still won’t go in the ocean. LOL
