He does point it, the part where he's pointing his gun in the air is him reluctantly trying to point his gun at them, play the scene at 0.25x speed and right after the random Pinkerton agent fires a shot, pause and zoom in on Javier and you can see his gun is pointed at them, and you can see him raise his gun up again after he heard the shot.

Personally, I think they should have stuck with the writers' version, Javier's always been a prick of weak character, that's abundantly clear in the Beaver Hollow chapter and it's also supported by John's description of him in the first game.

Javier was a solid dude in RDR2. They actually made him really likable. You can tell Bill was always too dumb and weak to go against Dutch, but I think Javier was too scared to betray Dutch and deep down saw his flaws the same as John and Arthur. Even in the ending you can see that Javier refuses to point a gun at Arthur.

Absolutely not considering rdr 1 came out before rdr 2 but okay but off topic am I the only one that thinks his appearance makes sense in the first game not only that they literally have identical faces the only reason he looks off in rdr 1 is cause he wearing raggedy clothes and his face is dirty but other than that I don’t get how he looks supposedly not like Javier the face like I said is literally exactly the same in each game jus one is more better looking graphics

If you see from rdr2 to rdr1 he had a glow down right

Just motion capture with the actors. John and Arthur are around 5’10 and characters like uncle and agent Ross were like 5’6-5’8 Uncle is shown to be taller than both Arthur and John in scenes. It’s so annoying

What 12 years can do to a person is crazy.

I like how stereotypical and average he looks in the first game. He was running and you can tell he wanted to blend in the environment as much as he could. But despite this, I am still convinced that he and Dutch had *the drip* in the second game. Javier was amazing as the quiet but badass type.
