    Im an aspiring writer. I write in Hindi, Urdu, Konkani, Marathi and English. Love the way Javed Sahab represents his Shayari. Lot to learn from the Legend. Maine ek Shayari likhi hai : *Kal ka Waqt aapki Himayat mein tha* *Aaj maine Qayam kiya* *waqt ki hukumat koi nahi kar sakta hai... badal tha rehta hai* *Aapki yeh Majaal ki chede iss diler ko* *gardish mein Gidhad bhi daboch leta hai Puramman Sher ko* I hope you people will like it. ✌️✌️

    He is neither the most enlightened person on earth as asserted by you nor is he pathetic as asserted by ali ammar syed. You guys need to have some kind of objectivity when you say things. This comes from knowledge, ability to reflect before shouting off your mouth. Javed Akthar is a great lyricist, and has very deep knowledge of Urdu poetry and Urdu adab. He is one of the fast disappearing breed of pure Urdu greats that adorned Bollywood since the early 40s.

    Well Sir Javed Akhtar Sahib, I am punjabi but to tell you that truth I use the Alfaj whatever I can recollect to imbibe in my artistic proposition of vocal artistry in; as I am a classical Indian singer. Like yourself my English seems too hardest to withstand a common sensibility of a person; but I am not inclined to quit my years old personality as admirer of English, which I have earned in for the last over 40 Years and unfruitfully to set aside and just the way yourself revere your URDU composition to present to your audience and win off their hearts with best of your ability and undaunted personalisation at large !!

    A language will survive only if it is rooted in the soil and local culture. You yourself said in a post that Urdu has most words borrowed from Farsi, Arabic. You can see for yourself why this language is dying in India. It has however lived on in Bollywood in its memorable songs.

  • @ankur7676

    @ankur7676

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hindustan me dam tod rahi h ? Urdu is the language of Hindustan, it originated in delhi. Pakistanis forcefully adopted Urdu as their language whereas they used to (still do) converse in Punjabi. The whole literature of geographic Pakistan was in Punjabi but Urdu was forced upon them as language of religion. Persian and Sanskrit words were rooted out for Arabic words. Same Urdu was forced upon Bengalis who rejected it. The point is some one want to 'preserve' a language (as big as Urdu) is a dumb thought. As Javed Akhtar said, languages are dynamic in nature, in this day and age of Internet, Urdu won't die but will surely transform and 'difficult' words will die (for good).

    @ankur. language and culture is carried on by people and not tied to geography. urdu is carried on by people in pakistan in present day even though it originated in india. India today has very negative attitude towards urdu. a parallel is the words Hindu or hindustan or india have been derived with reference to river Hindus or Indus culture. Indus is no longer in india, but the culture is carried on by the people.

    Both Hindi & Urdu derive from Prakrit, the parent. Prakrit's parent is Sanskrit, language of the Vedas/Puranas. Literary Urdu has loan words from Farsi & Arabic whereas Literary Hindi has loan words from Sanskrit. And increasingly so over the last 60+ years.

    Sanskrit very much alive and kicking. In my primary school syllabus 50's I had compulsory subject until 10th class. Of course I am an Indian National born n bread in India and confidently write, read, Sanskrit, although in general day-to-day use it has very low or extremely dismal appearance. Brahamin community very much in tune with Sanskrit. Recently I understood by education Minister Ms Irani; Sanskrit become an optional subject to high school syllabus.

    Most of Urdu, Hindi words have common origins. Take for eg the counting of numbers. One is Ek in Urdu and Hindi, it is also Ek in Sanskrit Two is Do in Urdu, Hindi, it is Dwi in Sanskrit. And so on. Name is "naam" in Urdu, Hindi and it is the same in Sanskrit. What has happened is: Urdu purists have cleansed this language off Sanskrit root words and in their place, introduced Arabic, Farsi words. Hindi purists have leaned towards Sanskrit words. Still the language of a common man on streets of Delhi is same as on streets of Karachi.

    Very beautiful learning experience and knowledge gained in a very simple discussion which I love a lot.Iam a retired police official from Delhi police .The theme of today's programme which I meant is that we don't have good teacher who can transform their knowledge to their students.This shortcoming was very much narrated by ur good self with ur sibling. That a good education has become rare in society as daily work of a man is becoming loader each day.One thing u described one day is remember is marvellous that :Language is more powerful than religion .This also u spoke one day.Thanks a lot .One thing I want to tell that my father was FA in urdu persian language an employee in Railway and I learned from him a lot.My uncle taught me English translation in 6th class which is my capital today .thanks to all from which I learned valuable thing .Today still IAM learning about my professional skill after 8th years of superannuation from police deptt.Because life in itself a learning process .With too much regards.

    Thank you Kausar Munir, for speaking understandable Urdu. The other lady spoke such high falutin Urdu that it reminded me of the Urdu that Pakistani journalists speak - I don’t understand a word of it. But Pakistani Cinema is smart enough to realize that speaking comprehensible Urdu in their dramas and movies is not only necessary but also sounds beautiful and not pompous, like the lady who came before you. The trouble is that people who know difficult Urdu want to display what they know.

    Oxford Dictionary every year announces it has added more words in new edition. It is pathetic that people are loosing their words and expression every year.... Well said Akhtar sahab.
