Streams (java.util.stream.Stream)
What is a Stream?
A sequence of elements from a source that supports aggregate operations (data processing operations).
Sequence of Elements ⇒ After calling the streams method on the source, the source is transformed into a sequence of elements.
source ⇒ It could be anything. Collections, Arrays, I/O resources.
Aggregate operations ⇒ a whole formed by combining several disparate elements,
disparate ⇒ essentially different in kind. In essence, these aggregate operations are for processing the data.
Characteristics of Stream:
Pipelined: Most stream functions return another stream, which makes it easier to chain or pipeline.
Internal Iteration: Unlike Collections, we don’t have to take care of the iterations here. It’s happening behind the scenes.
