These birds are soooo beautiful to watch in the wild. I have 2 bird feeders in my back yard hanging from the clothesline "T" bar (the clothesline is for the birds). Every morning right at dawn, they show up like clock work singing their songs and of course eating! Then in the late afternoon, here they are again, just like clock work again!! They all line up on the clothesline waiting their turn at the feeders ( over a 100 of them) and of course chirping & singing!! This goes on all year long, every day, never miss! I love it!!

These are an endangered species and breeding is encouraged when done correctly. Breeders create a market which affects poachers pulling these from the wild, where those sparrows belong. Breeding in captivity does offer a range of benefits, not just profit.

There are less than 10k in the world and are listed as endangered. Breeding is actually encouraged when done correctly and humanely.
