Mary Carl would be proud of me. I found a baby bird with no feathers and its eyes were still closed. I picked it up and did my best. I fed him watered catfood. I had no idea what it was till it grew It was a male Redbellied Woodpecker. He now flys around living a Woodpecker life. It was AMAZING ❤❤

I so love your lives!!! Talking about shelling peas and shucking corn takes me way back. My grandmother lived on a farm and they always had a huge garden. When the corn would come in, one of my uncles would drive his pickup truck to the corn and we’d throw the corn in the back of the pickup. Once we got a pickup full, he’d drive the pickup to the field where they had cows. Once he had backed the truck up to the fence, we’d start shucking the corn and throw all the “shucks” and silk over the fence to the cows. They LOVED that. And we’d have all the cows lined up at the fence eating. Of course, after the shucking and silking, that’s when the real work started as the prep for canning and freezing all that corn started. Thank you for bringing those memories back.

You two make the best farm couple that I know you are so compatible. Love your family. Happy Father's Day Jason have a great time on Father's Day. This is my great great granddaughter's dad's first Father's Day.

I too have special memories of shucking peas and snapping beans on my grandma and grandpa’s patio. The very first pickings of peas, carrots and tiny new potatoes Grandma creamed for all of us. So delicious!!

Peaches are like most fruits up here in NY: hard, dry, and tasteless. They look real good, but their storage for the trip must diminish them terribly. I waste so much money buying fruit; but sometimes I luck out and get some good fruit of sorts. Nothing's the same these days. Farmers and homesteaders eat like kings! Never grumble about it.

Speaking of Scrap metal Jason. I buy storage units and you come across all kids or metal broken tools or whatever. It piles up. I had a pile of copper pipe that was in a plumbers unit. That one single tote I got like $45 for it. (at about $2.80/lb ) Later I had to get rid of the steel metal. Looking for another payday. I had all these heavy multiple 5 gallon buckets of steel as well as some bulky bed rails and other stuff. I was sort of excited to get rid of it (and trash to me) but it was a LOT too. It came to like 400 lbs. !! But It Only came to like $7.50. (sad face )I think steel pays .25 a lb. At least it got recycled.
