The key phrase in this entire song... "because there's nothing that anyone would do." He didn't say COULD, he said WOULD because there's a big difference. If you suspect child abuse, call it out!! Who cares if you're wrong? I'd rather be wrong and make sure a child is safe than do nothing and risk that they aren't.

Lyle, For some reason our parents abused my older brother & I out of 7 children. In 6th grade I was admitted to hospital one evening and the next morning I was having emergency eye surgery for a detached retina that my mother caused in one of her rages against me while using my father’s thick mailman belt. From the 1st grade-12th grade family, neighbors, school officials and even school bus drivers saw the slap hand prints on my face, the bruises, the switch marks across my face, ETC., and NOBODY, NO ADULT ever tried to step in and help my older brother & I. I finally escaped home after another beating by my mother 2 weeks before 12th grade graduation. wado for watching & hearing this song.

When I was in my 30s I learned my ENTIRE hometown knew we were abused. Not one single person ever said a thing. 1200 ppl..no one have a f*ck enough to try and help 2 kids.

Hey bud , from Melbourne here. I was severely abused as a child age 3 til I turned 11. Nobody spoke, or told about anything that happened to me, even though I was passed through a ring which was orchestrated by my parents (and people knew about it all). It's sad that in this day and age it's STILL happening. My abuse occured in 1979, so a fair way back, but the physical and psychological scars are still there now. I've almost ended up dead several times (of my own hand, of course and once by someone else's), but I try to keep struggling on every day. Keep reacting to songs that mean something, they truly hit home. 🖤

I did say have tissues when watching this one. This video shows why songs like this need to be played. It helps kids realize that what they are going through isn't normal and that they can hopefully find help.

This shows how evil people are. If you hurt a child you need the death penalty. There would be no waiting or appeals if you did it you die there’s no question

Hey Lyle!!! I hope you have been well. I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes about 2 & a half months ago. I have been trying to prevent going on insulin. Really haven't been getting home in time for lives. BUT, I almostade it for this one. You know the situation with my grandson, so you know this touches my heart so very deeply. If only people would SPEAK UP with they hear Child abuse or witness it. Charlie would have a better life, if only....

@@staceysmith8173 thanks so much Stacey. I have been working really hard on my condition and I have lost a good bit of weight. So much, my scrubs are almost falling off me. It runs on both sides of my family. But, I never wanted to hear that diagnosis. It is getting easier. I have lost so much weight that my scrubs are pinned at the waistline bc they started falling off. Follow up appointment is next month. Fingers crossed 🤞.

I live in North carolina. My wife works at a daycare. She's required by state law to report any suspected abuse. Unfortunately this is a true story based out of Youngsville North Carolina
