Not taking anything away from him. He's amazingly talented artist and writer but as song writer I'd have to say he's a close second behind Chris Stapleton. That guy I can't believe the songs he's wrote. But yes Jason is AMAZING in his own right. That's what makes music so great the emotion and soul these artist put into not only the music but the words.

OK, this is one of the most absolutely beautiful songs I have ever heard. Love it all, his voice, lyrics, mood, tempo, slide guitar at end...genius!

Still sounds incredible in 2023. Perhaps my Favorite Isbell song followed by Cover me up and Alabama Pines.

That group of 30 people just got to witness one of the greatest performances of the greatest songs in the past decade.

Who the hell plays guitar like that?? Jason Isbell thats who!! Daaayum!!

Saw him at ETSU last Saturday night! Last show of the tour and all proceeds went to the Children's Hospital! Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit did not disappoint! They sound great live!! He is one of the great songwriters of our time!

wow. I'm glad we grew up so close to them in alabama. we saw them at the chicken and egg festival and they were AMAZING. world needs more people like them. Finally!! I got to see Jason Isbell in concert this weekend, and it was worth the drive, the money, the wait!! He is EXACTLY the same on stage as in the videos, he is perfect! Songs are still stuck in my head. I will be going to see him again, and again.

My first Jason Isbell show was over two years ago. ~100 people in attendance, all hanging on every word and just appreciating what they knew to be a jewel. I might never have that experience again, but if it means Jason's success, it's a sacrifice that I'm happy to make. He is the American songwriter.

Just saw him for the first time last night so I'm late to the game. Never in my life have I ever been so intent on listening to the lyrics of a song(s). Every single one tells a beautiful story and the music...well, the music is just incredibly beautiful as well.

This is only the 40th or so time iv'e listened to this song. I believe this is the best song yet!! Keep On Keepin On Jason!!!! ~peace & blessings~

I was pretty sure he couldn't possibly do better than Southeastern, but this is just amazing. Been waiting for something like this to come along for so long.Music's so much better for having him around.

This is by far one of the best musical performances I've had the pleasure of seeing live in the flesh! Simply amazing! Get to love this band!

Heard this LIVE for the first time May 1st at Merlefest in Wilkesboro NC. I could have listened to over and over....it seemed to stun the crowd with its beauty and power. I liked Isbell already but wow....incredible.

this song seems to just 'take you away' no matter what you're doing if you start listening to it you just fall into it forever and ever until its done....and then usually you just end up staring off into space...deBorja's keyboards are ethereal and with Jason's solo --- just physically moving

just do yourself a favor and listen to it again, you wont regret it!!!

Saw him play Portland that night. Powerful.

Isbell is up there with Tracy Chapman in pure songwriting prowess.

Just by being born. I tell my mother for the 4 sons 4 times a year our birthday's hers. Without being told we would have never known.

He is without a doubt, the greatest song writer today!!!

First saw Jason with DBT at the Continental Club in Houston back in 02 or 03, I've been a fan ever since. His success as a solo artist makes me so glad I was ahead of the curve with this guy.

The less popular but the better/ the more absolutely special- which he certainly is.

Ahhhh- and he swaps out guitars! I didn't notice but he must have done it when I saw him live!

That snare @ 3:42 though $$$ needs more reverb like the other performances though.

That slide guitar solo is intense!!!!! Damn this guy can play!!!!

Thomas Brown It is already out as of July. It is called Something More then Free. Almost as good as Southeastern. He has been getting a lot of press because it was #! on the rock, folk and country charts.
