He’s beautiful though exactly where it matters.

Jason is one of the classiest poets, musicians on the planet...even garnered more class leaving the CMA When they didn’t recognize John Prine and his Music after he died....Jason and wife are pure Class.

Huge fan of Jason's music. I don't think you can write music like this without going where he's gone. I'm glad he is healthy now.

No need to perpetuate the fallacy that you have to abuse yourself (and in the process, those around you) to make meaningful art.

Man, I can’t stand you sometimes Jason, you don’t know me, but you can put words to my life when I’m living it and I can’t. Sometimes I just want to scream your lyrics from the top of my lungs, but I’d just be stealing them from you. Maybe part of life is realizing your unique and special existence is not so unique or special after all, but the special part is when you find you’re not alone. I gotta say, as someone who's been through a bad divorce and had to pick up the pieces, the line "if there's two things that I hate, it's having to cook, and trying to date" hits home.

Damn Isbell, here he is again, just makin it hard to keep up. He really is one of the best singer songwriters ever to walk the planet. Plus, he plays guitar better than any other singer/songwriter I've ever heard.

Darrell Scott is damn good. Maybe check out river take me, the acoustic version. I'm a huge isbell fan though! His writing is the best out there without question.

Just discovered this today, what a fantastic songwriter, how does he paraphrase my relationship so well, “you won’t sleep til dawn if it don’t rain... sounds so funny when you say my name...” he speaks so clearly about living with and amid addiction. Amazing song.

Thankfully he's sober now, but this was written & performed when he was REALLY familiar with addiction.

This guy can write a freaking song, can he not? Nobody better at this time.

No sweet heart. I have heard it. When a child is lost, then you find out they told you the wrong child’s name. That’s the real sound. That’s absolute pain. Most humans, will never know that pain. Were all lucky for it.

Wow! Somebody else has heard buffy sainte maries codine. Thats the song I thought this was gonna be. I got that on a double album of hers when it came out. Still have it. And its real, and its real one more time! If I live til tomorrow that'll be a long time...(wowie zowie)

Discovered these cats through a Jason Isbell cover called Try, performed with I belive the 400 Unit and by Hannah Aldridge singing on her Razor Wire album release earlier this year. Epic. I have enjoyed learning Isbell and Hannah Aldrige (check her our for certain) more than any other artists in the past decade.

Yep. Great band. Also played with JTE a few times too, the Letterman performance of "look the other way" comes to mind. Just a great performer.

I remember the commercial with a guy crawling across the desert. He comes up on a shack where another guy is sitting next to a huge vat of ice water. The crawler asks the sitter if he has a cold Schlitz and the guy says no but here’s this water. Blacks out and then returns to crawler leaving the shack, on all fours still, and sitter shaking his head, as crawler has clearly not taken a drink of water but is apparently a purist who’ll settle for nothing less than that cold malt liquor...hilarious 🤣
