It is Speedway racing. Tourist Trophy is what the Isle of Mann is. Speedway is, or was as I new it 50 years ago, a single cylinder 500 cc J.A. Prestwitch or a Jawa Czech built engine that run on a slight nitromethane/ alcohol blend and mounted in a rigid frame that aint much bigger than a 26" beach cruiser bicycle. They have no starter, no brakes, one gear and are so low range ratio'd that it takes everything the rider has to keep the front wheel down. Why? I dont know cuz all the turning is done by keeping the rear tire in a 1/2 to 3/4 throttle drift when in the corners and a wide open straightaway. It takes a pretty big pair to ride em. Because my Dad was an adrenaline fueled ego on feet, he would never lift even when banging bars with younger, better riders with big sponsor dollars and he would inevitably blow the bottom end out of 5 or 6 engines a season and being he had two jobs, a limited sponsor budget and no spare time for repairs, I was taught at the age of 4-5 years old how to heli-arc aluminum for the crankcases he'd blow up and chromemoly steel for the frames and forks he'd bend and break when he'd get put into the wall. I was a damn good welder before I even haired over and why I was able to get hired at 15 as one of a 3 man team that would weld up all of the SE Racing PK Ripper bmx frames sold around the world from 79-84.

Huh??!! I have never seen this before! Amazing
When I was young, I used to go to these races. It's called speedway, and my dad personally knew one of the riders' dads, his name was Mr. Woods, his son's name is Rick Woods a world champion speedway racer, Their bikes have no brakes, One of the engines they use is a jawa, Its a lot of fun watching them, Very exciting!

Jawa is a Cheskoslovakia built engine. We had a track in Miskolc Hungary in communist times. Many Jawas 500cc 4 velves . We had international races the Poles, the Checks, Austrians would come race the Hungarian teams. So much fun.
Bad ass video 😊
I'm lucky I live within 2 miles of a flat track. And another one just reopened about 10 miles away. They are fun to watch live. I like the east coast vs west coast championships. Awesome.
This must be a bigger track than the speedway they have near me. They appear to be going much faster.

Couldn’t say for certain but Warsaw is typically wider and slightly longer than other tracks on our calendar. Helps that these boys are the top of the top and riding 500cc bikes though 💪
That wheelie while drifting was sick. Flat track is more exciting than I thought.

That’s not flat track, it’s speedway.
That right there is some great hard racing. Something NASCAR no longer knows absolutely nothing about.

Use to watch this when I was a kid in Brewerton Ny. John Tilton was my guy to watch
That guy the rage man pulling that Willie was like wow not on my watch
That's racing, Doyles a legend!
I'm too high for this 😂😂 I wasn't expecting all that tq out the corner!! 😂😂😂😂
Wow. Have speedway bikes changed since I raced them. Europe racing tracks are much larger then our 1/8 mile bullring tracks in Costa Mesa CA.

sounds a little familiar if I remember right it was every Thursday night or Wednesday night this is 1970 71-72 Costa Mesa when I see these things it reminds me when I was a young boy, I remember a rider named Bass, or Miller I think,

Long live Costa Mesa Friday nights where the Bast Brothers, Rick Woods, Sliding Sonny Nutter and sometimes my Dad, kept you on the edge of your bleacher seat for a solid 5 hours of nitro/alcohol fueled entertainment.
In the seventies we called it a flat track I used to race in Anchorage Alaska

It's Speedway racing, way different from flat track! These are nitro powered single speed drive!

@@ronaldthomas9396but is the track flat or very slightly banked? I've never seen this racing. Pretty cool stuff

@@thomasschwab1727flat. The most obvious difference can be found on the bikes themselves. Speedway bikes famously run with no brakes, whereas flat trackers have the luxury of a rear anchor which explains the disparities in cornering
I raced flatrack for 19 years. Always thought those speedway guys were nuts.
I was a spanner man for rider in Australia n Jason Doyle taught him how to put blokes up the fence,,, Aussie Aussie aussie,,,,
500cc JAWA's....AN ART IN SLIDE....SPEEDWAY....WHAHOOOO
We went to one tonight it was awesome
Please tell me someone got a pic of that wheelie from the front.
Dude this is sick. I'd love to rip a few laps
This looks fun
If ya ever get a chance to go watch bikes on a dirt track definitely go....it's a blast every time!!!

Yeah Doyle no Mercy !!!
I remember watching this as a kid in the 90's. It used to be flat track, monster jam and PBR every Friday night. Reply on Saturday morning with the weekly strongman highlights or the world strongman tryouts.
Love it❤
Only carnage was when Freddy lifted.
That wheel speed is unbelievable
I used to love doing this on my crosser 😅
Id love to try one of those
Racing at it's best
Dude did a damn wheelie drift 😂😂😂😂
Flat-track speed-way. 1968-72, California valley, Yuba to Modesto. Yamaha 250. Pat and Mike Rooney. Glen Artenian. Gene Rayburn.
Just when i thought hill climbing on a 2 stroke was nuts, you gotta drop this on me.
What a race
Sport is nuts
❤❤❤❤😂😂😂 and they used to have flat track racing up there in Auburn California and I loved going how entertaining it was a smell of gas people going fast wow brings back great memories😅
This is one crazy sport those bikes can move and if im right they don't have brakes... you've got to have some balls to do this.
Costs Mesa speedway when I was a kid. Best ever
Love speedway. Got to ride one in the early 70's. I was riding 125 & 250 class on 1/4 mile dirt ovals. Got to take a few laps and it was a beast. 2 speed tranny...fast and holy shit. The longer back straight was 😳😵💫
I think those would be awesome to race.
Crazy !!!!!!!!
These guys are crazy.... Full throttle all the way....
The original drift racing
A wheelie while drifting?!?!😮 damn bro.
So much dam skill
I saw the whole thing ! It was a training wheel malfunction ! 😂
The announcer is crushing it
I don't know what the hell is going on but it looks intense.
