Matt Damon did a similar stunt years back but I'm not sure if he was named sexiest man by People's afterwards. I think he was. So Jason Bateman was following Matt Damon's strategy which actually worked. So basically he was 50.000001% serious. Trust me, they will give him this award next time. Mark my word

I think that's the problem with doing satire these days, people take it the wrong the way even if its hilarious. The irony goes over people's head and i do think that the internet and our 140 characters, 6 mins video and 7 second vine media has something to do with it somehow.
