After Aldean released the video for this song, being called racist wasn’t the worst of it though; others (and there were far too many) mocked him for leaving the stage when he realized that there was a shooting going down. I spent hours angrily replying to those comments (and I didn’t even scratch the surface, either), because my niece was murdered while Aldean was on the stage. There was nothing he could’ve done to save her, or anyone else’s life. Besides, I wouldn’t have wanted him to stand there and be killed so a bunch of idiotic, keyboard warriors who think words are violence, wouldn’t have to watch his video.

I agree completely, & it gets much worse, I’ve seen the most actual racism I’ve ever witnessed in my life, in the last few years, & it’s black people saying horrible things about white people. I try to refute the bs, but then more of them go in on you, so I guess it’s hopeless. I’m so sorry about your niece💔

@@flubber1557please explain or elaborate why when I tragically lost my mother I had a lot of people tell me that and it just made me feel like people care. They are sorry that I lost someone I love I guess it just depends on how you look at the phrase but most people are not bothered by it

  • @flubber1557

@@sarasweightlossjourney1432 I agree. The intentions are good but its a phrase that is mis-used a lot. The person saying they are sorry for the others loss had nothing to do with their loss. I didnt mean any offense by my comment to be clear. I myself have a history of anxiety and depression issues. It makes it hard for me to be social. I come off as awkward or weird at 1st with how I phrase things. So I kind of use the phrase "im sorry" too often as I dont have much self esteem. I apologise more than needed. People can convey the same feelings over the tragedy or loss with different phrasing that doesnt put themselves down in the process. That was what I was trying to convey. Is it a big deal if they do use the phrase?.... No it isnt. As long as the intent still comes across the same thats all that matters. I just dont want to see others sharing my bad habit is all.

The clip at 6:27 is from a Billy Joel song released in 1989 and considered controversial at the time, calling out a multitude of wrongs from HIS perspective. A history lesson from the first to last word: "We didn't start the fire It was always burning, since the world's been turning We didn't start the fire No, we didn't light it, but we tried to fight it" It's simply artist reacting to what they see/saw at the time as negative.

I live in a small town now. Crime is a lot less, 6 homicides since 2000, 23 years. The town has all the shopping centers you need because businesses want to invest in it because it's safe. You got Walmart, Target, Dick's Sporting, Home Depot, every type of restaurant and fast food you can think of, local bakeries, new car dealerships, bowling alley, pool hall, 24 hour gas stations everywhere. You can get a fresh pizza at one of those gas station. All in about a 5 mile radius. Street over had a like a little block party for Halloween for all the kids. 3 million sq ft Amazon warehouse being built. My old place in the city, shockingly, a girl who I was seeing a decade ago was shot and killed in her car with her fiancé last weekend, just two blocks from my old house. There was a BLM protest right at the end of my dead end street for an entire week, blocking me in every night. Nothing but motorcycles and cars racing down the road. Mobil gas station rob twice in one week. Gang shootout injuring 9. People stabbed to death in the laundromat. Too wild for my old age. Small town is the life, it's so quiet at night that I feel guilty wheeling out my trash.

The wheeling out trash is funny. I moved from nyc to a small town. I pull out my trash bins to the front at 5 am. before I leave. It reverberates, and I feel bad even though it's about 30 seconds to the street. Neighbors are all wonderful, so it's ok

Seems like if someone gets offended... Then they must think it's about their own. Like a guilty dog barking..... Just my two cents!

@@amyt3ds I worded that as tactful as I could. I'm not a racist at all, I just couldn't think of a positive or productive way to say what I was thinking! I agree with you 💯, but it seems like the ones who were offended are in fact of one color! Damn you had to make me say what a bunch of other people are saying and thinking. I stand by my original post, I just wished I knew how to say it better. Thank you for your two cents. It's always refreshing to get thought provoking feed back! 🤔✌️😬🤎😲🖖😁

At 6:27 that's "We Didn't Start The Fire" Billy Joel. Anyone that thinks this song is about them then it's about them. If you don't think it's about you then it's not about you. This song is like the perfect way to test who the problem makers are.
