The Great - Shiv Kumar Batalvi. 9 years ago I came across an interview of this guy, I had no idea who he was, his poems in that interview blew away my mind. And when I came to know that he died at such a young age of 36 in 1973, I literally cried. I was not a fan of Punjabi language before but this guy made me learn it and since then Shiv Kumar and his poems are a part of my life. I hope more people knew about this guy and his poems, which are used in most hit songs in Bollywood.

Shiv Batalvi is legend of Punjab...he served maa boli better then anyone else..he was youngest person to win sanhitya academy award. Read his 'Luna' a master piece...and countless great songs.." mainu tera shabab lai baitha"...I'm glad my dad introduced me to this great legend as a kid.. we all miss him.

@@alexleona1540 two nation theory was a lie and political movement. A hindu punjabi, sikh punjabi and muslim punjabi are still equally punjabis. We have lived in Punjab with love and harmony until British came and divided us. Sikh rulers had protected Hindu and Muslim Punjabis of Punjab and Muslim Punjabis like Dullah Bhatti saved daighters of the Punjab regardless of their religion from human trafficking by mughal emperors. Punjab was secular until British came here and divided us in the name of religion. And ofcourse non Punjabi muslims played a huge role in dividing us like Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and Urdu speaking muslims. But historically, culturally and ethnically we are Punjabis and will always be. And you should actually see the love between Punjabis of both sides when they meet in foreign countries or even in Kartarpur. Also on social media, I have mostly Indian Punjabi especially sikh friends. Nobody buys two nation theory anymore.
