I am Iranian and grew up in Germany. Ya'll don't understand what Jasmine was back then. She was one of the few black people we (immigrant children) knew. She was a triple threat: Dancer, Actress, Singer! She paved the way for so many. We brown people rooted for blacks, celebrated them and looked up to them. We had nobody else that looked liked us. She is one of THE most underrated performers of her generation. Oldschool training, looks and talent to back it up. To see her sitting on the this show 30something years later is such a throwback! TRY ME 1990! Damn I am getting old!

I saw her in times square in 2009 . She was so tiny, petite and very pretty . Me & my sister was screaming her name like the star struck fans we are . She turned and looked at us and smiled . I was sooo excited for that moment !!! She's such a an amazing actress . She's my childhood , my culture , my icon !!!

Congratulations on your much-deserved Emmy, Jasmine Guy! Regardless of all the roles you've played, it was Whitley Gilbert that initially won everybody's heart! I was 25 when "A Different World" premiered. 37 years later, I still watch reruns because it was such a groundbreaking show. Continued success and peace to you!

was in audience, she look prettier here, at sherri show then some old video's, past 10 yrs. or less, some look face-real old" but might be bad lighting, as i was in the audience literally up front, all were in AWE as to how she early sixties i think now, so that's almost old (65 and up is old)but, at sherri show god bless her, she looked beautiful face, outfit, she look so pretty, GOD blessher, hope she keep aging better, aging well and is as a huge fan, i was happy to be at the show Sherri on FOX show, on a day Whitley was there."@@victoriousmuscle8632

Happy to see Jasmine getting her flowers. To be honest she, Tisha Campbell and phylisha rashad should have a few Emmys for the work they did on a different world Martin and the Cosby show 🔥. She also dropped a great album back in the 90s and had a lot of top ten and top 40s on it 🔥 Just want to hold you with James Ingram is a classic

Sherri’s kindness is sooo infectious. I enjoy her show so much!

I went to the first HBCU, Lincoln University (PA) during the show. My daughter’s freshman year at Spelman in 2020. School was virtual for her, everyone was home. The school was thoughtful and created a class around Different World. The watched episodes and discussed so they got their first year college experience vicariously through A Different World ♥️

Legend! "A Different World" is one of the all time best TV shows in history. It was as good or better than Friends, Seinfeld, or any of the classics like The Jeffersons or Sanford & Son. The acting, casting, and writing were all superb. That show got robbed of so many Emmys as did the Cosby Show.

When I was in the navy ( back in the day ) stationed at Norfolk Naval Station,I had a girlfriend that attended Norfolk State,went to a lot of college parties there too. Had a blast there,also had college students come party on base with us. Fun times. LOL.
