You will be amazed with the direction of this masterpiece. Despite being nearly a four hour film, time doesn’t seem like a problem at all. Every scene, frame and performance is a work of art. Directed by the Academy Award nominated director Ashitosh Gowarikar at one of his finest. A must watch!

Jodha isn't an imaginary character but real

This is a period when Muslim-Rule established ( appx. 400 years ago) in North-Western part of India... The King is Muslim (Akbar) and he married a Hindu Princess (Jodha).. This was an Arranged Marriage, so he is trying to win her heart..

Chita This is imagination. 1. Muslim rule stated in India in 1206, Qutub ud din aibak. Some 800 years ago. 2. Abkar ruled in 1556-1605. It was not noth west India but Akbar's empire extended from Afghanistan to West Bengal and till Maharashtra in southern end. 3. Jodha is considered to be a fictional character. Jodha never existed. Neither Ain-i-Akbari or Tuzuk-e-Jahangiri mentions of the name.

@@chiragrathore Jodha did exist. Her official name was mariam uz zamani. No one knows what her real name was. She gave birth to Emperor Jahangir. Their are many paintings from the era depicting life with young Prince salim. She was also given great prestige in both the courts of Akbar and Jahangir. She was not fictional.

Jodha was the hindu rajput daughter of the king of Amber in Rajasthan while Akbar, a muslim, was the third Mughal mughal Emperor of Hindustan(India) and one of the greatest ruler of the world! He himself was an idol of secularism! He respected all religions!

Definately watch the movie. But dont get frightened by the length. Its a really long movie but worth it.

JODHAA AKBAR are both historical characters - husband & wife. One of the great muslim (Mughal emperors) emperor from india & his hindu wife. The film is great to watch both visual & story wise BUT not historically accurate

@@esmen6153 its controversial but if we see,the majority of historians believe that jodha was a real woman Now the romance factor is questionable as many are lost in time.but what's certain is that Akbar and Jodha had respect for each other(hence jodha was allowed to remain a Hindu even after marriage)and many monuments prove her existence.at the end of the day u only believe what u want to believe.

U must watch this movie . . .its a historical movie by great director ashutosh govarker . Beautifully shot . .

you guys were asking about the time period.. well in this movie Hrithik Roshan were playing Mughal emperor "Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar's character and Aishwarays Ria were playing the Jodhaa Bai's character. In the movie they were husband & wife. If you go to the history than it says that both of them get married to each other in the year 1562. So more or less in the movie the director showing that time frame.

The film is set in the time period of late 1500's and early 1600's. And fun fact is his grandson built the Taj Mahal...

Akhbar was one of the greatest mughal kings (muslim/arabic) in the history (his ancestors invaded india), this song is based on his marriage to an indian princes named jodha who was from royalty of rajputs (Hindu Kings), this marriage was basically an arrangement between akhbar and jodha's father to keep peace in the region and to provide the security from any further attacks. Initially jodha was against the marriage as in hindu's its a taboo to marry in diffrent religion, especially muslims. Akhbar was a kind hearted and a gentle man and in this song they depict him longing for the love of his princess jodha. (Later she realizes and they live happily ever after).

Rahul Ray well ,Gowariker did some pretty thoroughful research for the movie from all accessible sources.He said that many of the things are unclear from the historical records.Even 2 historians from the very court of Akbar wrote diametrically opposite things in many cases! Even the exact name of Jodha Bai is not 100% clear!So he called her with the most popular name,known amongst the ppl! I would be very curious if you do the movie how would you make it?If you have so many unclear facts,you have to come up with some watchable story,what needs to give some beautiful and meanful message!This is not a fucking documentary,nor a propaganda movie for the Hindus or anything like that! Its an artistic movie based on very unclear history so it needs to be with big percentage directors imagination and creativity! Ive been acting in a big Hollywood movies and I know how much effort is put in every part of the process... You obviously dont have much idea.

This song based on true story in india around 1527 ad, this song based on the marriage between muslim ( mughal king) who married jodha bai ( hindu) queen this song portrays the relationship between two of them having diffrent religious background and they both trying to adjust their new relationship.
