As was his daddy..... JUGGERNAUT and THE CASSANDRA CROSSING are but two of my favourites with Richard. I also acknowledge Richard in the first two Harry Potter movies, which he nailed his performance there as Dumbledore.. Jared is a fantastic actor also, having just finished the CHERNOBYL mini-series - what a performance. I felt him channelling his father in this performance.

I watched 'The Terror' a while ago and I'm still haunted by his performance. Well, actually are performances were top notch, but he really excelled. Awesome actor.

Richard Harris was a truly larger than life person: one of the two or three greatest actors of his generation, a damn good poet, an excellent Rugby player, wildly funny, and the best story-teller I've ever heard in my life. He's missed.

I'd never seen an interview of Jared Harris before this one, and in the end I really enjoyed his stories as well as his overall demeanor. I also appreciated the interviewer's ability to actively listen and navigate her questions based on his responses. Good stuff - thanks for posting!

I heard another actor say that Jared is an extremely great storyteller, too - Lee Pace says that he always tries to get a seat nearest Jared, because he loves to listen to him & talk with him. Jared researches his acting roles so thoroughly, and it shows, what an intelligent and pleasant man he is!

Professor Moriarty was very modern for 1880s Victorian Britain, almost like Conan Doyle was imagining what a future evil polymath would be like. And Harris played that role perfectly.

Loved JH’s US Grant! Also, that he sees Grant as an important historic figure, whose public image is still maligned by the dominance of the Southern version of Grant, was a very interesting comment, with which I agree. Wonderful actor.

It’s interesting watching a few interview with Jared Harris when he seems to find something uncomfortable he plays with his ear. When he talks about his father and seems to be struggling with a memory or to find the right words he pulls at his sleeves and his ear. When he talks about things that he is comfortable with he gestures wildly with his hands. It’s very interesting. He is very diplomatic when he talks about his father but I can imagine growing up with such a larger than life character wasn’t that easy

Excellent interview with an excellent actor. Lots of insight into approach, technique and the simple nuts 'n bolts of what it is to be a successful jobbing actor. (I had no idea he was the son of Richard Harris). His portrayal of LANE PRYCE in 'Mad Men' was both masterful and heartbreaking. The combination of 'stiff upper lip' British arrogance and a real sense of personal pathos was beautifully rendered/balanced. Indeed, most of that character's persona was illustrated by what he didn't or couldn't do, not what he did. To underact, or appear to do just that must be so much harder. Fine actor. xx SF

Dis im power the deterministic art of actors by not letting them know the arc of there story. (around 25min in.) Jared is such humble and fluid human and so very steadfast to his own mind much is taugt here.

The marketing aspect is quite correct. Matt Smith being in something will garner it more viewers, a lot of them women, than Claire Foye. There really should be no other consideration. That's how it works at the top end.
