You’ll love the box I’m sure! Yeah vessel are my go to now for drivers. Their ball grip is perfect.

Excellent starter sets....those Toyo boxes should age well and develop a nice 'vintage' patina over the years. 👍

Basic toolbox contents : Screw drivers , Vessel 31 piece bit set , Vessel Adjustable wrench , Lobster Pliers / Cutter , Knipex 1/4” / 3/8” socket sets Locking Pliers , ViseGrips 12 volt test lamp 1/4” nylon ties , mechanics wire , wire nuts , electrical wire and tape , hammer and chisel

Those tool box looks reallllly niceeee would love to have one on my car I still remember my first toolbox that I got from my pops ... not all that amazing but it really did get me started had a bunch of cable cutters crimpers and a small hammer ... and it also had a few leather punch tools cuz my pops thought its used for networking XD

Great video, definitely picking up those vice grips for my blue Toyo box! Did you put a soft liner on the bottom? Mine is bare metal, just bought some cheap rubber liner from Harbor Fr(i)ght.

I bought foam liners from Toyo for the boxes, but it’s just a rectangle of foam rubber, nothing special!

Where do you find additional/replacement ISO/DIN compliant bits for the TD-110 driver for JIS screws?

Toyo’s T-360 model might work well if you cut your own foam insert.

Do the Vessel screwdrivers work well with Philips head screws or should they only be used on JIS screws?

You can’t use your USA Amazon.com login credentials, you have to register a separate new account only for shopping on Amazon.jp that’s pretty much it

Amazon Japan all the way! You just have to register a new account as you can’t use your American Amazon account. You can’t get everything and you have to be careful on the stated fulfillment time on each item (a random item might have a “usually ships by” date which is weeks or a month and that will throw off your whole order’s shipping time). But you can get most things on there and I get stuff routinely in 3 days, which is amazing.

Have you signed up for Amazon Japan's version of Prime, and if so, has it proven to be a substantial money-saver? Do find it applies to the tools you want most of the time?

Amazon Japan removes the 8% sales tax if you are buying from outside Japan. Capital One does not charge a fee to convert the Japanese yen to American dollars so you can save some money by using one of their credit cards. The shipping is cheap if you make large orders and I actually receive my orders the next day once Amazon Japan ships.

I love the minimal packaging used in japan, no fuss no muss, I truly despise companies who keep pushing this bullshit idea of "unboxing experience" like anyone would actually like opening his presents more than the presents themselves....😑

Simple is usually better. Keep in mind that these are all very affordable, cheaper option in this toolbox. When it comes to very expensive items, I do think some thought should be put into how it is presented to the customer, but I agree, the focus should be on what’s inside!

@@BrandoDamo I understand how you feel but I still think the only purpose of packaging is to ensure a safe shipping for the item itself and nothing more, an example that made my day was my Pelican case 1510 which arrived in a cardboard box and nothing else, with the implicit message of "we sell indistructible cases what the hell would we need packaging for?!?". My baseline reasoning every time I buy something is "how much of my money is going into the elaborate design and production of a complex BOX which I do not need nor I'll ever use again?", some times it is not avoidabke but I find it a good mantra when shopping 😁

I don't mind an unboxing experience. I mind when they put 2 things in the same space you could put 5 or 10 of those things in. Or when they make the packaging so hard to get into that you want to give up or open it up with a 12ga LOL. I could care less about unboxing the thing, I just wish they'd give a good manual and forget the extra expense they put I the box. Or put it in something that's useful (like a plastic cover over the screwdrivers, but the plastic can be used to hold the drivers on a wall or something.

I find that JIS “plus” driver geometry cams out far less than standard Phillips drivers. 🤷‍♂️

If I can get something I want through Amazon Japan that is my preferred method, but somethings you can’t get. You can buy from some manufacturers directly. Sometimes I buy through Japanese websites if they will ship to me. And there are some other methods to get stuff if you really want it but it’s not offered internationally.

Some basic things I use everyday would be vessel ball grip screwdrivers, Olfa utility knives, Lobtex lobster adjustable wrenches, just to give you an idea. One of my most used and favorite tools is not even Japanese at all, the Knipex pliers wrench is such a game changer!

Nothing to do with these? The reason “Channel lock” is a ubiquitous term for these pliers is that Channel Lock invented them. Their technical designation would be something like “multi-position, tongue and groove, slip-joint pliers” or “adjustable joint pliers.” Water pump pliers is another term, but pretty rare in North America.
