    I swear if they make this manga, All while filming the process (or key moments in its creation) and it even gets sold or published on the internet or otherwise. Not only will i be proud snd amazed but it will also be a huge inspiration. I would love to see content like this on youtube. If manga creators showed their process etc. I hope this comment is viewed and helps push this project foward for the betterment of youtube content that i very much would love to see

    I myself struggle with feet being not aligned a lot, so I was happy it was discussed here. Maybe you can do a video about keeping perspective consistent? - especially with ground perspective, I still don't understand it. I can draw buildings in perspective, but people is really hard.

  • @JaelBreton

    @JaelBreton

    5 жыл бұрын

    You can start by blocking the people down in perspective as if they were buildings. For example, draw a rectangular cube in perspective as if you were drawing a building. Then divide that cube into sections that represent the body, and continue until you drew a person in perspective. I know it's easier to see it in action. I think they do have a video that goes over drawing people in perspective. I also struggle with it, so this was definitely helpful.

    tbh to invest people in a story it doesn't have to be all that original, just a good execution. originality is an important factor but execution is the most important.

  • @virtualarmageddon6232

    @virtualarmageddon6232

    @@chrissan2677 I think most stories are super cliche especially when you simplify them down, listening to his description of the basics they have and the idea snowballing in the video it wouldn't be hard to make the story interesting. Sometimes stories that sounds super unique are executed very poorly. When I write stories I start extremely simple and cliché like: girl gets a crush on hot guy but they clash, or boy gets special powers and fights other magic users, etc. Its pretty much creating your own tv tropes list for your story in super short bullet points and then you expand more upon it. For me personally, I think character interaction and character development throughout is the most important. Start with simple stereotypes and expand them into being more than that gradually. Sorry for the mini essay.

    If you want to create comics/manga, I'd say just do it. Don't think too hard about whether you're good enough or not because in reality, you will never be just "good enough." And that fits for every artist out there. In fact, it would be worse if one actually did reach the point of being just good enough, as there's only downfall if it was even possible to reach the point of perfection. Just do it! :)

  • @HayashiKaiji

    @HayashiKaiji

    @@george-qz9un I know that's what everyone say. However, there's a certain threshold (which is still a gray area and not a hard line), that if you're unable to cross; every single person would be able to tell that 'there's something wrong/off' with the picture. I want to at least reach the point where most people would think it looks alright and only the trained eye could see that something could be improved. And to reach that threshold (or in the neighborhood of it), that in itself is an insanely huge undertaking. I always find professional artists absolutely monsters, because they actually got to their level by struggling through this mountain of hardships and failures. Something I don't see myself able to last for long.

    As a project its perfectly fine to have a story as basic as this one, it shows the viewers all the proccess of making a manga, but that is the only setting it can work at, if that wasnt the case then this is the worst storymaking process i have seen, there is no direction in his part, he doesn't even knows what he wants. The profesional did an incredible work expanding his thoughts, corrections and future develoments in a simple drawing, he basically did all the work in figuring out the story while the other guy just sat down there, trying to explaing itself instead of pitching a story. Its obvious that the profesional looks frustrated in trying to explain very basic things for ANYONE that has read manga before, you dont need to be a veteran in the industry or even a long time reader, you just need to do the proper investigation according to the story or setting you want your manga to be. Has he ever read manga? ANY manga!? Darwing's Game, Deathtopia, even Assasination Classroom and Mob Psycho have all these elements, so just doing research about the very same thing your trying to do too is common sense. He's a total amateur, in all fronts, not only in drawing skills (that can be cuestionable) but also in composition, and crafting a story that it makes you wonder why, why doesnt he have a plan? Even highschoolers have more develoment in their shitty drawings, they know who they are, whats their motivation, their world, all the things you at least think when making any design. Instead he just prioritize on how cool the characters look, instead of what will work with his setting, basic thing after basic thing. Just like the stereotypical deviantart creator. I know im just repeating myself but i want to make myself as clear as possible that all this points are CRUTIAL when it comes to making anything. If your setting isn't well established then you wont have good and consistent designs. As a youtuber making content, the gimmick works, but if that's not the case then it just becomes frustrating to watch.

    We specifically asked the participants to bring in early ideas and rough sketches as a starting point for the video to develop into conversation. The purpose of the video shoots isn’t to impress each other with finished submissions although that could be an option for other shows :)

    @@DoKiDoKiDrawing If thats the premise then it works in that way, its really interesting to see a real conversation between two artists, discussing what works, what doesnt, the whys and hows. My point is that without that description, it really feels like they are trying to make a new manga from scratch, since they continue to emphasize the premise of their history and the development of it, which is very important in design, true. However that clarity is needed. Thats my issue with the video then, as a first time viewer is necesary that context, otherwise it becomes a really frustrating experience, but thanks for the clarification.

    Thanks for the feedback! It’s true that this context wasn’t clear and we’ll try to explain it better at the start in future shoots :)

    I'm updated reading the manga... It's somewhat good imo, I just wouldn't want him getting back together with the girl who broke her heart.. Like, I'd be fine if they would get back together, but like to see the girl to apologize, since our boi didn't do anything wrong..
