what is math rock?
math rock is a relation to post-rock, a better known indie-rock style that shares similar aesthetics. where post-rock has distinct jazz influences, math rock is the opposite side of the same coin -- it's dense and complex, filled with difficult time signatures and intertwining phrases.

i get used to hearing things get filled in a certain way with drums. But it for us its like super awkward pauses in places that sound like they need something to spice them up.@@kingcrimson4133
@StarStew

@@kingcrimson4133 i think it's because of the way the drums are mixed. they stand out and sound clean unlike conventional rock music where they are super compressed and EQed just to have their little bit of impact.

The first song gives me this feeling of trashing around in the water trying to survive as you sink deeper and deeper, and as the song continues you get more desperate and tired, and the tiredness makes me want to just surrender to the abyss and let everything just all consume me... Just me?

Wow, I remember when I first listened to that first Japanese math rock playlist back in Spring, with those gorgeous visuals of the magnolia blossoms and the matching shade of sky blue. 7 months later, your videos got more and more professional-looking (especially with the opening graphics and audio timing) - and still as aesthetically pleasing as ever*. *Edit: It goes without saying, it includes your curations of your playlists. Japanese math rock is my favourite genre from your channel.
I don't know what i was expecting but i found what i needed to finally turn my life into an anime.

Uchu Conbini's Compass is one of my top-ranked JP math rock song. Sad to see that the band has dismissed. Anyway, appreciate your work of promoting a bunch of high quality songs for us.

Agree bro UC was great band so sad they disbanded, hopefully Emi had solo project. Although their disbanding, Daijiro still had project JYOCHO, I quite listen JYOCHO album and i get emotional in song FAMILY especially guitar riff Daijiro make, and CIRCLE OF LIFE encourage me to practice even more on guitar beside that adding FLUTE player was beautiful.
