I can knit fairly well but have just started learning how to knit lace and loving it and know I want to become more accomplished. Earlier today I looked through this book at my local bookshop. Wow! The patterns are absolutely stunning. From my beginner mindset they are very intimidating but so beautiful that I am now more determined than ever to develop the skill so that some day I will knit those beautiful patterns.

I’ve ordered the book. I’ve knitted and crochet since 9 years old. I’m pretty well advanced in my mid sixties. Thank you so much for your review.

I almost bought this book at a craft store today, but I spent too much at the gas station filling up my car's gas tank! It took all my crafting money. Grrrr.

I have this book. I am trying to use some of the patterns. I literally do not understand the difference between two different stitches in the stitch guide at the beginning. For example on page 8 under Crossing stitches: 2 or 3 stitches, the second one down says, "With RN, go in front of first st and k second st without removing it from LN; k first st and slip both off LN." On page page 11 under Two stitches the second one down says "With RN, go in front of first st and ktbl second st without removing it from LN; k first st and slip both off LN." These end up being exactly the same thing to me. How do you knit a stitch from the back (go behind) without doing a ktbl? Is there a video showing the difference between these two stitches ? Thank you in advance for any information on this.

I got this book for a Christmas gift. I crochet mainly. I do knit mostly socks. This book is very detailed with intricate patterns. I am honestly not sure if I will use it much

Hi Becky, I am sorry to hear that... I think that because you mainly crochet it may be quite a challenging book for you. But, since you knit socks, you could use some of the patterns for your socks and take it from there.... what I did a couple of times is - first I decided whom the socks are going to be for (usually lady, since I used lacy pattern) and then I decided how many stitches I needed to start. Once I knew the number of stitches, then what I did is (to keep it simple) I knitted many rows of ribbing calf to ankle - no pattern - this way it hugs my leg well... then after I divided my stitches in half, I worked on my heel flap, turning heel, and gusset, then when I started to knit around, I started to work my lacy pattern on top of the foot only until when I needed to do decreases for the toe area. Now for that lacy part on the top of the foot - I found a pattern that the number of stitches would correspond with my half of sock stitches... You could do this technique also for the wrist warmers, fingerless gloves... this will push you out of your comfort zone and you may feel fabulous about accomplishing something more elaborate... here is the link to my socks so you can look at my sock picture - handmade-rukodelky.blogspot.com/2017/06/red-hot-sox.html good luck 🍀 ... and please have a happy & especially healthy year 2021 💥 💥💥

Yes, just repeat a stitch pattern in the highlighted rectangle = a repeat without the first stitch that is outside the rectangle
