Regarding the pre-invasion prep fires on Kwajalein (36:38), my dad joined the army at 17 but was months too young to see combat in the Pacific before V-J Day. He got sent to the Philippines and his ship stopped at Kwajalein. He said the naval gunfire had knocked down or stripped all of the trees and it was essentially six feet of bare coral sticking out of the Pacific. It must have been a vivid memory because he was talking about it ~ 30 years later.

It was their exceptionally high quality optics. Same thing with the majority of German tanks. Their true advantage early in the war was that ALL panzers had quality, two-way radios. Later on; their superior options and gunsights were a massive advantage over allied tanks.

Yes it is. 2005 we working in Hong Kong when ALL Mandarin, Cantonese and English newspapers headlines the after results of joint University of Nanking and Hong Kong post-war research 1945-2002 took them 3 years to ‘officially admit findings’ KMT, not Japan blamed. Like Shainghai ordering troops to change out of uniform into civilian and wage insurgent terrorist campaigns, 3 months earlier Tungchow, Korean Japanese settlers, KMT marched in truce, disarmed Japanese garrison, forced them to watch ancient longer Chinese Korean hatred, rape, cutting our babies from pregnant mothers, imposed upon pikes. Exactly what we accused Japs of in revenge Nanking but other than British historian Liddel Hart and American veteran Toland censored from our history. One of the reasons we violating own Geneva Convention, UN mandates, Unconditional Surrender, GHQ MacArthurt CRIMINALIZING any media record or representation of war events from Japan and Korea. Nanking, defeated again, his own generals educated and trained with Japanese opponents, Chiang himself spoke Japanese buried hypocritically with Emoerors medal in Taiwan. To leave the population centre for victors, open gates, leave citizens out of fight. But KMT repeated Shanghai worse, locked refugees in, killing evacuees. Though not safe Japs humiliated surviving Tingchow. First non-professional ‘conscripted’ boys, forced to suffer casualties taking what should have been ‘open’ city, then like we today in Afghanistan Iraq terraced by men deliberately out of uniform. I recall first teaching Nanking in school students skeptical his older history books claimed 2.5 million Our 250,000 we said ‘typo’ When Capital of KMT China, Japs took Peking called back then. Only had 25,000. Back to CHINESE findings investigating social records, pensions, health care, death and inheritance estate records, refugee and shelter records and modern relatives. If 25,000 killed, LESS than half by Japs MOST by Pro-KMT warlords robbing the rest. This is the Chinese Communist Party admission in BOTH major newspapers printed 2005. Why would my western side keep lying? We ourselves were offered money by CCP to ‘fan embers of ancient anti-Jap etc divide and conquer Fourth Estate propaganda exactly like this KZreadr here. Even topic lie. Our own Admiral Lee and Kinkaid reported ‘the British trained IJN’ not just superior training and discipline in basics not over-reliant on radar etc, his own unprecedented 9/9 full broadside 16” salvo should have blown old refitted fast 12” armor battle cruiser point blank 6-8000 yards out of water, didn’t🤬 (She only scuttled next dawn mistaking our carriers coming not turning away) But ALL our radar even communications and electronics (great uncle served proudly under Adm Lee there) always knocked out by our own big guns. ‘Vastly superior night training and optics forced us to withdraw the Jaos again huge mistake thankfully. Not just Leyte Gulf, we tried to cover up Yamato again first salvo ‘hull behind horizon’ armour piercing shells over 25000 went right through carrier deck and keel to bottom of ocean, she never fight again but towed home repairs. For every account one side couldn’t hit broadside of mountain at least as many other way around. We STILL working on solution to our own big guns knocking out our Superior British btw the war researched radar, Japs has caught up but not retired, navy based in DEI not blockaded from fuel. But unconditional surrender resulted in Jaos scratch earth all files and records. To this day NEVER original complete blue prints designs of famous Yamato we STILL convinced only had 16” till post war. THAT and THIS deliberate propaganda, divide modern Allie’s. Especially when we taught in Hong Kong forced to return to old anti-Japanese and Taiwanese propaganda, S Korea working brilliantly for them. We don’t know a single Korean colleague anti-Jap, even teaching such in school since MacD GHQ, like your country you can’t even run for office unless feminist minority, you can’t be Korean politician without anti/jap agenda. Used to work for west, ironically unlike us to our colonies, Japs always invested 15% modernizing, developing, industrializing, even we girls educated, universities, hospitals, heavy industries, roads, highways, rail roads my in laws shock underground tube, airports, navalbases. Though until 1943 not conscripting, already 400,000 volunteered. MacArthur untrusting but had no choice, you never hear Korean Genersjs officers military all Japanese trained veterans, PROPAGANDA. UNSUBSCRIBE ALL THESE SUDDEN ANTI-JAP tubes now China, not us, need to conquer Taiwan as promised ‘as soon as possible’. You can trust Chinese schools to internet perfuse with these stories your emasculation and Biden, weaken their enemies before attack, Art of War, divide and conquer. Good for YOU only KZreadr seen of some common sense. You impress us, thank you.
