There are a handful of D1ers usually every year at this tournament, for example one of Japans WRs is playing D1, cant remember the school of the top of my head. They also have a pro league and a college league that are very well established, around 50 years for them called "X League" I gotta say their linework is incredible, and I expect we'll be seeing some Japanese O-Linemen in the NFL in the next 10 years. Usually Canada will have a handful too, not sure about this year but definitely in the past. They have college and pro too in the form of CFL, which most would say is the second best football league in terms of talent. I am Canadian and I would say we probably take the tournament the most serious and usually send most of our best guys, but a lot of the Canadian D1 commits don't play for this because their college restricts them from doing so, just like the US players. At least a dozen D1ers every year from Canada but most don't play for the national team, they don't need/want to since they're already recruited to a big school. USA team has had quite a few but this year's roster is by far one of the worst put together when you consider they've had talents like Jameis Winston and Jordan Poyer play for the national team. I am assuming USA will be back for vengeance next tournament with how much notice has been put on this one. I'm really looking forward to the next one since this one got so much recognition!

Great game! World american football amazing i wish they can promote it way more and broadcast it on espn
Looks like Japan lost their star runner (#2, who ran wild on the US) on their first possession. Tough break. These kids are cramming games in every 3-4 days, and for the non-host nations there's probably pressure to keep their rosters small to keep travel costs down. Canada had host advantage this time, but the US and Mexico have had it in the past. It rotates. Hopefully Japan or Austria get a shot next, it's definitely an advantage in terms of getting as many of your best players as you can to the event. Canada even had enough to field a second team (replacing Mexico who backed out late I think).

I think it's the athleticism. Canadian players are more athletic than American players at average. That's because the US programs have emphasized strength, power and size so much through the years, aspects of athleticism such as quickness and agility have been largely overlooked. Canadian athleticism plays well with Canadian football where the field is bigger and the number of players are smaller. You can see the Americans couldn't handle the agility of undersized Japanese players whereas the Canadians had no problem with that. If you have the athleticism, then size matters a whole lot. On the other hand, it's true that team USA weren't made up of their best players. If they had brought in their best players, their pure bulk and force probably would've stopped the Japanese team flat and clean. But as a longtime "football" fan in Japan, I'm really surprised that our team won, even against a third tier US team.

@@clubeyxander5132no it’s because this tournament is geared at increasing American football interest in other countries so they limit who the USA can add to their team. If the USA brought their best players every team would get seriously hurt😂.
@clubeyxander5132
9 күн бұрын
@@Precisepete NO, you didn't get my point. The US are the best at American football, period. If they wielded their best players in this tournament, half of the other teams wouldn't even make it home. It used to be like that even when the US brought their 3rd division teams. What I was saying is that because the American programs are concentrating so much more on size and power, the athleticism gets overlooked from the second tier and beyond. I'm not talking about the very best players. I'm talking about things at average. And my statement that Canadian football is more athletic is just a fact based on the size of the field and number of players. You should watch some CFL once in a while, it's uniquely different from the NFL. There's more space, and they run a lot more, too. I'm not saying it's better, I'm just saying it's different. But if you don't want to listen, it's OK with me. I was just replying to the person who asked whether USA sucks or not. My plain answer was, they don't. I just provided my insight into why their team lost.

@clubeyxander5132
9 күн бұрын
@@earlysda You seem to know a lot about rockets, and yet seem to overlook a lot about its history and the present day industrial situation. First, Japan's rocket program is among the best in the world. It's not as grand as NASA's, it's just that they specialize in smaller payloads rather than the gigantic ones that the US are so good at. A while back, the Japanese program was at a loss because the Americans had officially banned the Japanese from liquid fuel rocket development after WW2. They started their program from scratch, developing solid fuel rockets, something the whole world had deemed it to be useless other than using it as fireworks. This really payed off, though, because by the 1990's Japan had developed a solid fuel rocket capable of launching satellites into orbit. Japan is still the only nation capable of this feat and is the sole leader in the field of solid fuel rockets. Because solid fuel rockets are more economically efficient than their liquid fuel counterparts, Japanese rockets of present day are known to be highly cost efficient. Of course, they also make liquid fuel types now; they combine the two to get the best efficiency. And about the failures, their newest H3 rockets have had some initial technical failures but it's on track now. They've never had any crash downs or any of the kind, you know. The predecessor to the H3 rocket, the H2 rockets are known to be one of the least prone to failure in the modern day. Things aren't exactly the same as the US, but they are doing quite well in their own rite.
