[Matsuyama Castle] Hirayama Castle is located in the center of Matsuyama City, with the main enclosure at the top of Mt. Katsuyama (Shiroyama) and Ninomaru and Sannomaru at the southwestern foot of the mountain. It is also counted as one of Japan's three major Hirayama castles. The castle tower (large castle tower) located on the main platform at the summit is one of the 12 castle towers that still exist in Japan. Among them, like Himeji Castle, it is a coalition-style castle, and is considered one of Japan's three major coalition-style Hirayama castles.
