That was a really good video. The way it was a continuation of a partial video that we, the tsunami viewers, have seen time and time again. Here we have extended footage, about eight minutes worth. Footage that we do not get to see very often at all. I’ve never seen it, and I’ve watched countless videos of the 2011 Japanese tsunami. Such an unbelievable tragedy. I still can’t comprehend the magnitude.

Only thing I'd disagree with is that it was a tragedy. It has been providing online entertainment for years so it is all good in my book.

The evacuees that had climbed up to the very highest point of the airport building had the right idea because no one knew just how high the water would reach! At it's highest, the tsunami reached 128 feet/39 metres and at it's furthest it inundated to a distance of 6 miles/9.6 kilometres inland and made landfall around 12 minutes after the earthquake! Unfortunately, in numerous other locations there were no buildings or structures high enough to avoid being completely submerged with fatal consequences to those sheltering there!

At 2:00 minutes, you can see especially nicely that this isn't just an ordinary wave whose height falls again right behind the crest, but rather that the whole ocean is higher for miles behind the front of the wave (the white water).

Most of this video is taken over the southern side of the Natori River,a part of Sendai,at the mouth of the Natori River is Yuriage Town which was destroyed,Natori City further west of the coastline but still partially affected by the tsunami and the Sendai Airport...most people don't know this but Sendai City being the most populated city in Northeastern Japan with a population of 1 million is also a prefecture within the larger prefecture of Miyagi, because it has the largest port/harbor Sendai and Shiogama Port and Harbor in northeast Japan, the rest of Sendai Prefecture,Miyagi prefecture consists of various satelite cities like Tagajo and Natori cities, the Natori River,Sendai Plain,Sendai Airport, adding another million souls to the region,it has at least 11 agricultural colleges within the plain itself which is the agricultural hub for the surrounding area, many companies have their head quarters in Sendai City itself, the plain is taken up by many small villages with schools/hospitals,farms and large plantations most associated with the colleges and industries related to that,so the area was largely affected by the tsunami,it will be years before the agricultural part of the area will recover due to ocean salt leeching into the soil plus industrial waste released because of the tsunami.
