Have just so loved you cooking with your Mom. I wish my Mom was still around. We have tried to replicate her recipes and can’t.

Ooooooh, BIG nostalgia hit!! I adored the Bontan Ame candy as a kid in Hawaii--it just seemed magical the way the wrapper dissolved in your mouth. And back then, I'm sure you remember, you got a little toy in each box. Hooray!!! Also, I'm a huge fan of the Biscuit Sandwich Ice Cream, and ice cream sandwiches in general. I make mini ice cream sandwiches by putting any flavor of ice cream between two not very sweet Maria vanilla biscuits (made by Goya). Delicious! You and I have similar taste in snacks, Shinichi. Oddly, I too prefer plain potato chips. If there's a dip, I even like them unsalted. 😄Thanks for the tasty snack video. My love to you, Satoshi, and your mom. Have a great weekend!!

Hi Shinichi!! First of all, let me say bravo on your choice of music for this video. Love it! Secondly, I must tell you, a couple of years before the pandemic, an African work friend of mine turned me on to Japanese sweet potatoes. But I don't think that she knew at the time (and maybe still doesn't) that they were Japanese as she always bought them from a Mexican grocery store. I don't care for regular orange sweet potatoes, but I adore Japanese sweet potatoes. I don't get to see my sweet friend much these days as she works in a different division of our company. But when I do see her again, I will ask her if she knows that they are Japanese. Thanks to you and Satoshi for your videos, and I hope that he is feeling better. I'm glad that your sweet mother is able to visit with you and is doing so well since her cancer diagnosis. Love to you all.

It's been awhile since I tuned in, it's good to see you. I always love seeing videos about snacks. I like to try to find them at our Asian grocers here in the states & see if I can find any of them. I love senbei and I'd really love to try those sweet potato snacks.

I would eat that whole bag of black sesame rice crackers. Yum! Thank you for explaining the soup video. When the cooking part ended and you started talking about your Australian trip, I just assumed the end of the video was gonna have the tasting after your story, but it didn't, and I wondered what happened. Take care of yourself and Satoshi.❤😊

Those first bunch of snack I have certainly tried. I bought them in an oriental shop. The first one is definitely my favorite of them. On the sweet potato stuff, I wonder if you've ever had deep fried sweet potato. They look like French fries and when done well are super delicious. They have to be nice and really crispy.

Where did you find the Bontan Ame? And where would you find an actual dagashiya in Tokyo (or Kamakura)? I do know about the Dagashi Bar, but I would like to find a real dagashi shop.
