Japan’s Most Beautiful Cherry Blossom Tree | Miharu Takizakura Story ★ ONLY in JAPAN
Ойын-сауық
The world's most beautiful tree is a 1,000 year old Japanese Sakura - Cherry Blossom tree. The Benizakura variety or "Pink Weeping" Sakura changes colors in spring from pink to white. This tree is on a hill, easy to see. The town has made a path around it to see every angle. In the fall, resident volunteers ready it for the winter snows so it's not damaged. It's the symbol of the town and of Japan itself, the perfect sakura tree.

A 1000 year old sakura tree surely has to be the world's most beautiful! 😍🌸🌸🌸

Surely! The Japanese Cherry Blossom is considered the “most beautiful” and this is the most beautiful of them all so … it’s not a stretch to call this the most beautiful in the world!
If only the tree could tell stories of everything it has been able to witness over its 1000 year life so far. And it's amazing how much pride Japanese have with their cherry blossoms. And how much they care for the trees.

I know! Instead of becoming a book, it should write one! But there’d be many chapters on rough winters - and I think before the Edo period, the tree had it much tougher than now. Records before 1600s are hard to find, just enough references to validate it’s over 1000 years - but it would take double the time to explain it. If only trees could talk, I want that interview!

i was thinking about it and all i can thought of was blood flowing, the immense amount of blood spewed throughout history. Even as a Japanese myself the thought of living through the era of the past 1000 years is quite frightful. History aside this tree is in a class of its own, the tree among trees. It is highly revered and to me personally, i do not see it as a tree anymore. it is old enough to manifest itself into a spirit. it is something sacred to many Japanese, not just a beautiful tree or a tourist attraction which the idea itself is offensive for something many hold sacred. It is a sacred tree to us.
The tree is lovely of course, but I was truly moved by the social dimension, the community's emotional connection to the tree and how the community voluntarily looks after the cherry tree.
A beautiful tree and a beautifully told story John. Seeing how it looks in the sun, cloud and at night really captured it's everchanging moods. Wonderful job capturing this ancient and majestic tree. That walnut mochi looked oishii! Loved your enthusiastic showing of the sakura manhole covers, great fun! 😋🌳🌸🌸👍

Oh, if it didn’t expires in a week, I’d send it to Canada 🇨🇦 that mochi had so much flavor! I’d have to go to the factory and send it direct from Fukushima for it to work or drive it back to Tokyo same day … not a bad challenge! 😋 for June!
That old man played in the tree when they were children, imagine how much emotions and nostalgia they have for the tree growing up side by side with it.
All your videos are wonderful, but this one is special. Your unique view of Japan brings joy to all of your subscribers!
I can feel your love for this tree, John. I love the many faces of the tree but I think it is magical at night when we see it lit. It gives the illusion of being illuminated from within each blossom. Thank you for featuring this magnificent tree. Certainly the most beautiful tree in the world ❤️
Everything about this--video, cinematography, music, narration--is perfect and gorgeous! Beautiful work! Thank you very much for this jewel! 😍💞💕💕

Thank you for the wonderful feedback! To make an episode about just one tree was something I really wanted to do - a reason to come to Miharu, see something larger than all of us, something my great great grand children could experience. With this video, I was there in 2023 and they’ll be there in perhaps 2093 💕

Agreed!!!! John is epic!!!!
I've been there in 2019 and this is something else. First, while you drive from the nearest interchange to Takizakura, you'll see a number of massive cherry trees just along the road. You will be definitely surprised and touched with the trees. And when you meet Takizakura finally, you can't stop smiling with tears. I promise.
I would love to see that beautiful old Sakura! 😍
Very cool to have that nice Cherry Blossom tree in Japan especially in spring . Here in California, our favorite trees are the giant Sequoias and it's beautiful year round . General Sherman is around 2200 years old🌲
I really love how you present things in the video and also not to forget that your voice is soothing and fits so perfectly in the videos. Thank you so much for presenting Japan in this way ❤
Yes... It is probably the most beautiful tree in the world because my favorite tree is the weeping willow. And this one looks just like that... Except all in pink or white depending....
This is the kind of episode I love to see on this channel. This, the melody road, kodo, the station cleaning staff. Can't wait to see more of these.
That Sakura tree is definitely one of a kind!
Beautiful tree. Stunning videography, especially the night shots. Fascinating history. Thanks for another great episode.

Great age and great beauty are wonderfully together in that tree. Thanks for the video! 👍
High quality work as usual John. I'm always learning when watching your channel, and dreaming of my next trip to Japan ! ✌
Wow. This is beautiful! Shidarezakura has never been my favorite, but this one is different. It is in its own class! I liked that you talked about having difference color/faces every season. That is one of favorite thing about Japan, having distinctive four seasons. If I have a chance to visit Japan during Sakura season, this is now on my list to visit. Thanks for the video, John!
This is another amazing video John, thank you very much 😉
福島の三春滝桜 来ていただきありがとうございます! 大迫力の三春滝桜 皆さんもぜひ!
This was great! I wish I could have that kind of karaage on a stick though
Absolutely gorgeous! Definitely a top contender for the 'Most Beautiful Tree in the World'! I vote *Yes*!
That 3000 year tree looks intense too. When looking at old things I always take a moment to imagine all the events it saw and also survived, 1000 years is mind boggling.
Truly beautiful and breathtaking. I've never seen something so gorgeous. 1000 years is impressive
Fantastic work John💙🎌🌸
Absolutely beautiful. I think one of the reasons everyone loves it besides watching it change throughout the seasons is that it has endured. Every generation tries to modernize it's surroundings and this tree has seen it all and still stays roughly the same. Of course, with a little help from us humans. I too would love to hear it's story of watching time pass and what it's witnessed. Thanks John for showing us this. 🥰
For the Sakura tree being 1000 years old, there's no doubt that it sure looks stunningly beautiful. 🌸🌸🌸🌸
I never really stopped to think about what was the most beautiful tree in the world, but you did a good job convincing me it's this one!

It’s worth going up to see in the spring. I’ll go again, to visit an old friend 🌳 unlike my other friends, I’ll always know where this one is 😂
Really impressive sight and cherry blossom tree.
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! I can only imagine how wonderful it looks up close and personal. It has a very majestic feel just from looking at it through your video. Thank you so much for sharing this John! Magnificent!
Of course there are lots of beautiful trees in the world, probably more so than this one. But what makes it special here is that in its hometown and in Japan, enough people see and recognise its beauty, they value and cherish and celebrate it. Generations of people looked after it. People travel hours just to see it, a tree. That's what makes it beautiful.
Beautiful history
It's such an amazing story. I can see the total love and appreciation all have had for this beautiful tree. It's on my list of the must-see when i go to Japan :-)
Thanks for sharing, John ! What a tree !!!
Really beautiful! 😮
That’s really beautiful. The tree takes on so many different appearances as it changes colors..and as the light hits it differently.. and the age of this tree!..thank you for the history behind it!..Really enjoyed it! 😊
we will all grow old and die, and this tree will still be here getting visitors after we're all gone
So pretty! I didn't know there were three of these grand trees and that they were all different varieties of Sakura! Wow :D Thank you for sharing with us :)
Best shades of sakura🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸😊
You have a knack for good story telling.
That truly is the most beautiful tree in the world, Great job John can't wait for another video! 😍🥰🌸🌸🌸
Very cool!👍🏻
As always, amazing video narration, direction and photography
"🎶 Could you be the most beautiful tree 🎄 in the world? 🎶" 😉 Sorry Prince and his estate I couldn't help it!!!
Beautiful tree Sakura is my favorite flower 🌸
For so many years, you really capture the magic of Japan!! This documentary made my cry with joy and love for the nature and people who cherish it. Then the food!?!? Yum...And at night, that tree is even more awe inspiring! In my mind's eye I could see folks 100-300+ years ago celebrating the tree as your photo showed. What a temple of nature's wonder. As always, you make great videos!!!!
your narration is top notch, so easy on the ear
Very beautiful!!!

Beautiful! Especially when it’s lit up at night.
A perfect icon to be protected! ❤❤❤❤ that’s why I still love Japan. Even though I’ve never been able to visit, hope I’ll be able to go.
Very cool video. Can you please do more videos on japans forests, rivers, and mountains?
Beautiful and all that street food has made me hungry.
Extremely beautiful tree! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
the most amazing sakura tree
A king of all sakura trees 🌸🌸
This tree is gorgeous
Thank you for showing us this magnificent piece of Japan. A real shame that this is so beautifull such a short time. But now we can enjoy this when we want beacuse of your great effort in showing this tree on its best moments.
When they kicked the lights on at dark, that was beautiful.
Lovely
Nice tree!
You know when this man uploads a video you will instantly add what he features to your japan bucketlist.
What's awesome to ponder is the people who took care of the tree through the ages never got to experience it in is present glory but they clearly envisioned this for us... :)
Amazing history and documentation of the tree. Thank you for sharing this tree with us! Did you use any AI upscaling for the not so 4k footage?
