Japan’s Genius Way to Produce Tons of Ice Blocks Every Year

In this episode on Tekniq, we will walk you through the harvesting process of ice found naturally, followed by the crushing and logistical process of ice in a factory. Later, we discover how lotus silk is harvested and refined, after which we journey on motorcycles carrying gigantic wooden logs.

The title of the video is "Japan," but it contains footage from a completely unrelated country (the people in this video aren't the same race). I was shocked by the low quality of the footage.

Yes...the video is mashed up of different video and not related to Japan or ice blocks at all. Very confusing.

.... Why is it ingenious? I don't understand it. The Joseon Dynasty, the last ancestors of the Republic of Korea, kept blocks of ice that had undergone "this ingenious" collection process in refrigerators made of stone or wood. According to Korean historical records, the Silla government had its own refrigerator management department, so they must have kept ice blocks ever since. Preserving blocks of ice was ingenious in ancient times, or at least until the Middle Ages. But only in Korea or Japan is it an ancient tradition.
