I'm American and I thought this was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life. Western religions have all but ruined the grieving process for people with all the hypocrisy involved and using funerals as some kind of a recruiting platform for a captive audience , the Japanese way is wonderful and refreshing.

If you are referring to Christianity, of course Christ will be proclaimed at a Christian funeral. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one forces you to attend a Christian funeral, or, many, many years from now, to have one yourself. But at a Christian funeral Christ Jesus WILL be proclaimed.

@@a.t.c.3862 I didn't mention Christianity, Judaism; or Islam however your response is precisely what I'm referring to. People make their own arrangements and have their own peace; some are even placed in cryonic suspension for revival at a later date. Buddha said " happiness is not what you have, happiness is what you think. "

Bones don’t burn. Usually in the US when people are cremated after they cool off they are pulverized in a grinder. They won’t allow people to witness that part only the actual process of the body being put into the cremation oven itself. Mostly to avoid traumatizing family members. I never witness my father’s cremation it was already hard enough to deal with a sudden death. Took almost 2 years to accept his absence.

@@farishope6540 There is no shame in not crying, saying that people are shameful if they don't cry is quite ignorant. People have their own way of grieving, not everyone is going to cry.
