Officially opened in July of 2020, the AC Hotel by Marriott Tokyo Ginza is centrally located in Tokyo’s luxury neighborhood of Ginza. The property is part of Marriott’s Select portfolio of hotels and participates in their Bonvoy Travel Rewards Program. Nightly point redemption rates range from 35,000 points to 42,000 points during peak travel times and on weekends. The hotel has a modern European design and I found it to be a step above the other two Marriott properties in the area (Aloft Ginza & Courtyard Ginza) when it came to amenities, customer service, and the overall experience.

Hi - looking to stay in Ginza for 3 nights in mid/end of march - where do you recommend?
Thanks for the information i was looking at both tonight for out trip in sept. A lot is new but it just seemed to gimmicky for me. I kind of have the same feeling for w hotels. This hotel looks more my style but the reviews on breakfast are not good and I saw complaints on staff being not very friendly. I don’t put a lot of faith in reviews because it’s usually the negative experiences people post not the positive. If doing points i would do this but if a pay cash then I want to look at other hotels. I have found some 5 star rated hotels with Marriott have not been worth it on recent travels. What is a 5 star chain the is Japanese owned? Oh like the jacket also.

Greetings Steven, I thought the breakfast at the AC hotel was nothing special but it was complimentary because of my Marriott status, so no complaints. As far as my experience with the staff, I found them to be very friendly to me personally. Unlike most hotels in the area, I noticed that the reception was a mix of Japanese and foreign employees (since Marriott is American and a good amount of guests staying here are overseas tourists) and I did find the service at this hotel to be more Western than Japanese, which makes sense but I could see how some guests would find this disappointing and interpret it as the staff being less friendly. Most of my experiences at 5 star Marriott hotels in Tokyo have been quite positive but they are definitely a lot more expensive than Japanese owned properties. I can see how some people find the price not worth it but you have to keep in mind that Tokyo in general is an expensive city to visit when it comes to luxury hotels. Some of the most famous Japanese owned 5 star hotels in Tokyo are The Okura Tokyo, The Capitol Hotel Tokyu, The Palace Hotel , and Hotel New Otani, and the Cerulean Tower Tokyu hotel in Shibuya is quite popular with Tokyo locals.
