Japan 60 years ago (60年前的日本)

Second part of this old worn film of 1957 showing the onset of industrialisation in Japan, its worries about the future having to import all raw materials the country lacks.

1950`s is Japan`s adolescent period when the Japanese economy was thriving, and people worked hard everyday because they firmly believed their efforts today would be rewarded, and tomorrow would be much better. It`s amazing that only 10 years had passed since Japan was war-torn and devastated.

Fascinating! This is a really good one too in that it's a coherent whole and not composed of a range of archival material from different decades, which is often the case with educational films from the 60's-70's.

From the onset of industrialisation in 1957 to Japanese economic miracle by 1964. Only took Japan 5 years. Long live G.N.P.

The film and audio quality is very bad for the year 1957.Perhaps the American film team might to ask the Japanese,I'm sure, they had some better cameras for them😉😉

it's amazing how the world has changed since then, but then again, nothing much seems to have changed since i was a kid in the 90's. So may be progress has slowed down? world seems to have changed so much for my gran & parents generation, but i feel like im missing out.

It hasn't changed so much since the 90s on appearance yet but think about the changes in our everyday lives that we now take for granted, like the internet. Also, consider what was 'socially' acceptable then compared to now, it's a big change in that respect.

Is this really a 1957 film? I lived in Tokyo from 1957 to 1960 and remember seeing my first TV program looking through the window of a wealthy Japanese home in my neighborhood. That was 1959. In any event, this film looks more like 1963 (especially the discussions of cameras and shipbuilding).
